The rider Rickey Gadson is a Kawasaki rider so the test is biased. Plus in motorcycle magazine tests they indicate the chassis of the Busa' is much better than the monocoque chassis of the Kawi and handles better than the Kawi. That monocoque chassis rides up over the engine and makes the bike too top heavy which makes it harder to throw from side to side and with all that weight high up it makes the bike pitch under braking and acceleration. Also aftermarket stuff for Busa' are much better!

@antimatterion Right! I rode a 14 noticed the same thing, it is top heavy. The busa's weight is lower & more in front were the engine is, I almost panicked when I went hard into a corner like I do on my busa, atleast that was on a 2009 14.

People but 1400's not to go fast, but for touring purposes.

The ZZR1400/ZX14R isn't a superbike, its a "Sports Tourer". It's got enough torque that it'll happily do a world-tour without braking a sweat. It barely knows your on it.

Whilst, touring the world on a 600 would pose a few more challenges.

Can you race the ZX? Only I know the Busa was banned from it. It would be crazy to see these 2 on the IOM TT but I think there would sweet FA difference between these in race prep and the 1000s. If anything I think the 1000s would be quicker!

This is a joke. It depends on the rider to a large degree. Ricky is paid by Kawaski to be their drag boy. He practices on Kawasakis. He likely went slower on the Hayabusa on purpose because of money. The legendary Hayabusa will always rule because it was first, is better engineered, has its cool distinctive looks, is comfortable, and is lightning fast. It doesn't matter if a phony test says it is a fraction of a second slower. Kawasaki should be embarrassed by that video and their product.

lmao. stock hayabusas will do under 10sec quarter miles. granted the kwaka is very impressive and four years newer than the hayabusa design, but the riders had differing skills. I personally want to know if they fixed the zx14 so far as on road quality goes. I obviously have a Gen2 hayabusa, but I nearly bought a zx14 and might just buy one of these new ones to go with my hayabusa :)

You have two bikes and you dail in the exact same suspensionsettings on the bikes. However, that doesn't nessesarily mean that the handling will be the same.

Each bike has their own optimal set up for whatever you want to do with it.

Just dailing in the equal amount of clicks on the suspension, doesn't make them optimal for both bikes.

I personally have ran a 2012 zx14 setup just like my 08 busa.zx14 was stock and lowered front and rear with a strap, and. my busa is slammed with a pipe on it thats it. the rider was skilled too. he got a better 60ft and rt and my busa ran him down easily. he went 9.90@146 my busa went 9.16@155. ricky gadson is full of it. but anyone is welcome to go out and buy one and then get owned by a stock gen2 busa.

i guess i am biased. i have always been a suzuki fan..with a few forays into the harley davidson world. but i absolutely love the hayabusas styling,handling,speed.acceler­ation. i guess the only way to dethrone the kawasaki is for the engineers in osaka,japan to build a 2000cc hayabusa. this reminds me of the american musclecar horsepower wars of the late 60's-early 70's. before ralph nader and OPEC shut them all down. this is all my humble opinion,gentle readers... have a nice day! :-)

@easystreet1991 yes ur right but the reason why a busa will actually beat a kawi with the exact same rider is because of its aerodynamics... kawi is more comfort and cruising but its kinda like a brick flying through the air... the busa is more lean in the sense of its plastics it has better shape to cut through the air ive ridden both and i can tell u that the busa is A LOT more stable at high speeds more than the kawai.. kawi just has brute force but not like OMG compared to busa either
