I dont know if you have this prob too but, my hinge on my macbook pro is very loose and the screen moves around without me touching it like whenever I am moving the laptop around.

Hopefully also, if this design from Apple sees a huge level of success, we can maybe expect other PC companies to follow suit, thus bringing the better build quality to every computer, no matter what you buy. Apple did it with the iPod, and they can do it again. Now as for me, when my Macbook does decide to kick it, or I get bored with it (latter will come first, I'm sure), I'll really check out this new unibody design...

The only thing I don´t like about my white MacBook: it feels kinda unstable and sometimes it makes noises when Im lifting it....

I think the aluminium casing is also better in terms of cooling your mac !

I normally hate it when people "look down upon" every other laptop manufacturer but I agree on this one the whole alluminium thing,it spells better build quality but the phrase "you get what you pay for comes to mind", and thats the big difference, price.

I just have one question. has apple actually started some sort of recycling program for the soon to be "yesteryear" genaration of alluminium macbooks and imacs? it's all too easy to talk the talk, but will they walk the walk. lol.

Speaking to someone in the know they couldn't believe how my unibody macbook was made, they were saying its the most expensive way to engineer. They said that alone would make them buying it and the price tag is justified.

u know whats funny, i knew this would be expensive, but at the same time, over time i expect the price to fall, as your building so many of the frames, im thinking economies of scale, so the cost per uni falls as output increases but since this engineering process is so expensive, it may not happen.

you are correct. the card uses the dedicated 256MB instead of using system memory.

Shared system memory can be used for other purposes other than open GL programs and can therefore affect gaming, movie editing performance etc... Dedicated graphics is dedicated to programs that require graphics acceleration. Thus dedicated is better. Shared should be fine depending on what your after.

i was jus curios cuz most of the time 256 mb used from onboard and 512 + mb are dedicated most of the time, , , like new mac books ( late 2008 - early 2009) they have 2 GPUs, 9400m uses onboard and 9600gt m has its own 512mb gddr3 , , , , id love it u make a vid about physx and cuda, , google it to find more info

ive seen a person with a white plastic macbook that thing looked like it was 10 years old. Plastic was all yellow and lots of scratches. I cant see that happening with the new aluminum ones

I got mine on Sunday just gone. (2.8GHz, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD). First laptop I've ever owned and its been fantastic so far. The migration assistant was fast considering I had 200GB of files to bring over from my iMac.

No. Currently, the MacBook range only has the one white macbook with mid-specs, Apple would never take a step backwards, maybe their opening up this range for a net-book? Smaller screen (Since now 13-inch is included in the Macbook Pro range there is no point of making another exactly the same but in plastic), lighter and perhaps more powerful than any on the market currently.... We'll have to wait, but Apple will definitely give this section an overhaul!

The thing is, the "new macbooks" are the same design as the old ones, plastic and white except with much more power. i think they i'm realize that the price was far too high for a macbook, glad they moved back. and now instead of the aluminum macbook they call it a macbook pro now. i like the review casual and interesting.
