I'm a SrA coming up on my third year meaning I can retrain in a couple of months from now. I've been looking into the Boom Operator AFSC. Any words of wisdom? Please don't sugar coat it, tell it how it is day to day. Thanks!
@Lookingforfourfor, there's not a lot of math but as long as you have basic algebra and physics, you're good to go. training can be demanding in that there's a lot of book knowledge involved. and since you're flying with a receiver only 20 feet behind you, there's no room for error.
@denison336 thats called getting the job where you fix a 50 year old aircraft...if you could stop the damn hydro leaks on the sighting window maybe we could see what the hell we're doing
hmmm - 2 pilots fly a boom operator to work so they can lay on their stomach and pass gas... talk about AWESOME job!! Wouldn't be too ashamed of having to get one of them lunch!! NKAWTG!
This video is great. I was active duty AF for 6 years, and this is SPOT on. I love it.
