I was among a boatload of guys in a steeple race in 83 and a rival/buddy got clipped over the first barrier and stomped on by the pack. I didn't see it, but my dad said he got up and started running again, but was kinda looking at the damage and brushing himself off and didn't see/ran INTO the next barrier and went down like a rag doll. Talked to him after & he said he was done with the race, but runners have short memories. It's a tough race. Ron Hare, if you're out there, hope life is good!
