a fabric is still a fabric, no matter what...snow socks were not designed to totally replace snow chains or winter tires. they are made for occasional use and for short distances. for example i was on a trip to a ski resort this weekend. and the last 5kms of the road were covered with snow. snow socks worked perfectly in such situation and i had no problem. and in my country winter tires are useless 99% of the year, so it would be stupid to put winter tires for 5kms of snow every now and then
You are NOT supposed to drive over 50km/h with these on....Also, these socks should be strictly used on snow surfaces. Maybe you did one of these things wrong.
@mrmeanr just agreeing with Hemi4127 comment, "Jeep" or 4 x 4 whatever doesnt stop anybetter than a regular car on snow and ice. all cars have 4 tyres and 4 brakes right?? also wide tyres grip WORSE on snow and ice because they don't dig in. check your facts.
Snow socks are a waste of money. If you bought a set this year and a set last year you'd have bought a set of retread winter tyres which would be a much better investment. Our snow is so patchy and our roads so variable snow socks are not really workable when at least 2 tyres will do a much better job.
I have used these on my car for two winters & they are a fantastic invention & have got me out of some really tough spots still got the same set i bought two years ago they have payed for themselves ten fold. Even my snow tyres cannot compete but i just slip the snow socks on and I am away.Would truthfuly recommend these to anyone who gets more than a ft of snow in winter.I think this guy must have been really hard on his set , as mine are still in good shape considering the miles ive done.
I bought a set last year and they were fantastic. You absolutely must take them off unless the road is completely under snow or ice. You absolutely must not exceed 30mph with them on. (It's snow - why would you do that anyway??? :-)
I used mine to get from my cottage in ruraldom to the ploughed roads and probably drove a total of about 50 miles on my set without any issues.

It is obvious you are a tosser. If you have a greivance with them take them to the had loads of dealings with this company and found them great. Your language is a disgrace. Grow up
@nediaaa4 I bought snowsocks on ebay last year - £47 and they lasted a lot longer than described here.
Thing to remember is keep to 30mph or less, and as soon as there is bare tarmac, take them off - or reduce your speed significantly, or they can tear at the seams.- the thread used to sew them together does not seem to be the same standard as the covering - but should stay protected, off the top surface if driven on with care.
@nediaaa4 there only ment for driven in snow not have them on all the time your ment to take them off when your not on the snow or driven at high speed
ok i understand the video and i would be as pissd off as u but is it possible u just got a defective unit and then on top of that the seller is being a prick? i mean is it possible u just had bad luck with the first unit u bought and in general they are a good product?
snow socks are designed to be used ONLY on snow roads, and for a limited amount of mileage. its a fast solution to get out of a hard situation. they dont replace snow chains in performance and durability.
so if u want to do trips as u said, u should buy snow tires or snow chains
come on, its fabric, it is totally normal to wear out
Would you like to explain how they came to rip apart? If it's a manufacturing fault then the retailer wont refund you, especially if they worked once and it's the second trip. Have you asked the manufacturer?
I drove from Dublin to Gorey in Wexford without them on and then i put them on for a 20 minute trip on a country road covered in snow and on this trip i heard a loud bang and got out of my car and noticed one of them ripped off and got tangled up on the inside of a wheel.
it had to be cut off which makes it look worse than it is. but the point is they ripped and i'm having an enourmous amount of trouble trying to get a refund, not giving up though!
@dragonstarshiryu country road? as unpaved road? nice work brainiac, socks are for pawed road and packed snow, sure they rip in country road with gravel and rocks and shit... bravo, share your idiotism with the world.

How would they go on 'bad' roads - eg, little Irish country roads which get iced up - full of pot-holes, broken up etc?
wnesbitt1 3 months ago
Feet - socks - boots
Tyres- snow socks - winter tyres

I have had mine for a few years, they are still OK. They are efective, quick to put on, even for a woman (chains are a pain to put on).
They will wear out if used on tarmac too much, or abused, but if treated carefully they last OK.
I can only guess you had a badly made one.
