yup, I think that's how you train better balance and coordination for when you get older. I remember messing up whilst running or walking a lot throughout the young portions of my life, like running up the stairs and missing and getting hurt, or just simply tripping over my own feet whilst running or sometimes even walking. I notice once I hit 16 or so I have never missed a stair or tripped once, and I'm 21 now.
Better to learn all of that young than old.... for your own sake.

While I think the measure they took was a little extreme, It's not the fit kids' decision to chase around those who simply don't want to be chased. To support your position you introduced the idea of obesity, but why suppose that obese children are the only ones who don't want to run around? What about *nerds* who derive more joy from solving math equations than aimlessly running around?

In the mid 80s when I was in a grade school we used to have fights in the school yard and it made us better cause of it. This current gen of kids is pathetic and helpless. When China invades and the power goes out these kids (in their 20s in the future) will not know what to do next.

You bet it does. Fighting at a young age teaches you that fighting as an adult is a stupid thing. It is a right of passage. the only possible perceivable problem with tag is that the fat kids can't run fast enough to play equally (the liberal horror!), or kids' feelings are hurt because they've been sheltered from the least unhappiness and can't handle competing with others.

Whats next? Drugs. Just drug the population. That'll make everybody real happy. Maybe thats the reason so many of these liberal types think the FDA should lift the ban on certain illegal drugs. Any thing to make people feel good about themselves. Why not? Any time there is a problem with the population they just throw one of two things at it: money or drugs!
