This Makes Me Very Homesick. I Love The Beautiful Song & Awsome Video. I Know I Was Born Way Too Late, Maybe I`ts A Punishment For GOD Only Knows What, But I Thank Him(GOD) For Wonderful Folks Like You Who Post Such Wonderful Music & Videos.
I remember this song from a Gus Arnheim Vitaphone short the band did. It has a hot violin solo by Russ Columbo! Nice to hear another rendition of this song by a band previously unknown to me. Thanks for sharing this recording.
Don't want to labour a point but I now discover (by Google) that the Detroit Tuller and Statler hotels were situated beside each other in the twenties. Can't find any Google references to a Chicago Tuller hotel though.
Thanks Grzegorz - you may be right that there were two Tuller Hotels - I just remembered that I stayed one night in the Detroit Tuller in the mid-sixties on a business trip and it was getting seedy then. Certainly no Gerald Marks or Adrian Rollini!
Oh Grzegorz, if I may make a small correction to your note, the Tuller hotel was not in Chicago but in Detroit, Michigan where it was torn down in 1992 to make a empty gravel parking lot that no-one uses today!
A great recording, thank you. That bass solo sounds very much like Adrian Rollini, but he was in England through most of 1928 with Fred Elizalde so unless we know the recording date we can't be sure. Rollini did play with a number of hotel orchestras.
Grzegorz, I think in my other life, I was a member of the Edgewater Yacht Club and I'm positive My Dancing Shoes and I danced to this Jazzy, Jovial, Upbeat song! :-)
Thank you, as usual YOUR photos are GREAT and the music is HOTTER than HOT!

Who is the vocalist? There's so much good here I
don't know where my raving should begin. Wasn't there a famous tennis stadium by the Edgewater YC? Too many Basil & Josephine stories I guess.

Perfect riverboat music. Makes we want to find a river and a boat even though it's freezing cold outside.
