  • can i know onething

were do u get measurements of the model you are making

  • hello VINIGRIGOLO!!as far as i understand you have made two seperated parts.so you have to use the solidworks assembly to put these parts together.assuming that the dimensions are precise check the upper inner face of the rim of the wheel to be TANGENT with the lower outer face of the rim of the tire.if this doesn't work initially then make the faces COINCIDENT first and then TANGENT. i hope i helped.if not send me a PM to talk again!

  • How do one get the tile background?

  • Thank you , it was really helpful.

  • hello, I need the model, and I have a lot of questions about solid works, how can I talk to you ?

  • I keep getting an error when I try to cut extrude the surface-revolve2. It says something like cannot terminate where extrude ends. What am I doing wrong?

  • Great tutorial u make it look so easy 5 stars ;-)

  • I have a question about the blue line that happens when you mirror the tire. After mirroring you can see there is a blue line that right between the two halves of the tire. Can you tell me what that is? and how to get rid of it?

  • @alekx67 Blue line is because of surface,Just Hide that surface.

  • whats the distance between plane1 and front plane ?

  • @Sb4rkZ I need to know that to :(

  • I'm getting an invalid feature for patterning error when circular patterning the first extrusion. The second one circular patterns fine. >.> tips?

  • fantastic tutorial mate. really helpful! ive been trying to do a curved surface revolution for weeks!

  • ty vm awesome tutorial!!

  • Anyone, thats having problems with the "surface" tab. Go to Insert->Surface->Revolved. But altough I don't know why I don't have the surface tab. Are you using SW 2010, or is it just "display the surface tab" thing in options?

    Thanks for the tutorial!

  • what version is your solid works? Mine is 2010 but doesn't have the "surfaces" button.

  • For a long time wished to learn to draw a tire! The super! thanks!!!!!

  • well done , i never would of imagined this possible , you make it look so simple

  • looks complex... Why not use blendeer or maya?

  • @happygamestvfun1 because in blender, maya or 3ds max cant do planes or FEA.

Solidworks is a 3D CAD program, is specifically for engineer. :)

  • Good tutorial! at first i thought it went to fast, but when i got used to it it worked like a charm. The resolution was good so i could easily pause and see what you did. And since to video could not have narration, i think it was a good idea to have no sound since then i can play the music i like. I hope to see more of these in a near future. :P

  • Great tutorial, worked like a charm. Thanks a million. Would be great if you could put up a few more.

  • very good, nice , thanks

  • Thats cool, I was just joking, Great Tute anyway, Thanks, :)

  • gobez

  • very good tutorial, but I'm having difficulty right at the end of the tutorial. When I try to make the circular pattern to create a tread pattern, i get an error message saying "Rebuild Errors. Invalid feautre for patterning. Please recreate the feature using the geometry pattern option or make sure that the feature is on a single solid body"

  • @alexmang99 and if I try selecting the 'Geometry Pattern' box, I get another error message, saying: "Rebuild Errors. THe selected features could not be patterned using a geometry pattern. Deselect the Geometry Pattern check box. I can post screen shots if you like. I am using Solid Works 2009 SP5.0 if it helps. Also, I noticed that I have 2 'Solid Bodies' when from your video, it looks like you only had one. My 2 being the curved section of the tire and the middle part of the tire.

  • wow great

  • great vid, learnt alot. Put more vids lol

  • Well done... There is nothing to say...

  • Holy Crap. Thats awesome!
