  • I think I have the coupon story of the day. I went to Kroger did the Kleenex deal and I added 2 boxes of cereal that was part of the 10 for $10 promotion. The cashier did not accept my mfg. coupons for the cereal because they had Walmart on them. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told there was NO MANAGER THERE! I told her to put the cereal back cuz I didn't want to argue over some cereal. But can you believe it, no manager on site? So were they just freelancing in there?

  • I think for Walgreens we should tell them that we don't like that you have to have the same amount of items as coupons. If I just need one item and I have a MFC and Walgreens in-store coupon and I pay with a RR I have to have a minimum of THREE items! I just hate that.

  • My vote is for FAMILY DOLLAR. Their employees don't know their own coupon policy.

  • Priscilla, I wonder if it would be a good idea to come up with a survey or something like that for each store where we consumers can vote on the subjects that we have issues with like coupon policy, bad attitudes, reading coupons correctly, dismissing coupons altogether without trying to scan them first, adjusting coupons, no overage, etc. Just throwing that out there. They need to know what needs improving!

  • My vote is for Walmart and subject is knowing their coupon policy. Rude, condescending attitude from cashiers and managers is unwarranted and unacceptable.

  • Walmarat = Coupon Nazis. All I'm sayin'.

  • Awesome Idea! My vote is to hit either Walmart or Target 1st also! Personally, I have had no issues with my local Target YET? But, Wow! Have I had them with WALMART!!! Every single time I've had an issue with them it's about what is on the picture of the coupon not the wording. My opinion is this should be the 1st topic? I've watched a lot of videos where people have had the same prob. with other stores, mine has just been with Walmart with this issue & it keeps me from not wanting to shop there

  • Do you know the name of any coupon clipping service? The service that sends the coupon to my house

  • @lateashia418

Just google "coupon clipping service" and you will find several!

  • I agree!

  • you're welcome....these corporations need us, but don't want us to use the coupons they put out...we are these stores best advertisers...we write about them, blog about them and make videos about them...we even have vid bloggers that walk into the stores and record ways to shop there....we are their cheapest marketing dept....now, they need to be accountable for their employees, their policies, and their products...these cashiers and managers need help!..lets give it to them!..Smiles..

  • I am on board. Let's do this.

  • I agree that WalMart or Target should be the first two. I think the biggest problem with them is that none or the employees (including managers) do not know the coupon policy and tree to lie their way out of things. Like GregThatDude has said, just scan and move on. If it goes through then thats great if not then you need to fix it. Do not just look at the coupon and say you cannot do it because they don't understand the wording on coupons.

  • I think Walmart should also be first since most of us do shop there and it's national. I also think one of the BIGGEST issues is it seems not all stores have the same policy, even though they do. Their employees need to know their policy, without us having to educate them. That's not our job. Our job is to shop and pay for our merchandise, using coupons or not, that's our choice. They all need to be on the same page. Part of their policy is to give overage, and ALL stores need to know this.

  • Nice

  • I think Walmart and Target are the worse offenders.Walmart tries to shame and humiliate couponers with their indecisive coupon policies and Target is straight up non compliance with their own coupons.I am so tired of the rolling of eyes and huffing when I present my coupons for payment. We are not criminals so why all the ill treatment. The battle is for he/she who endures which is us "the couponers".....Thanks Prisskitajoe :)

  • @AnomalyHaute

I could not agree with you more about the stupid rolling of the eyes and huffing and puffing. Walmart in particular is AW-FULLLLLLLLl!! They act like we're taking money out of their pockets. They don't realize that stores MAKE MONEY every time we use a coupon.

  • Walmart first. I think everybody shops there.

  • also, day before yesterday I went to walmart with my Bic coupons and got the Bic Crystal pens that were $.97 and WalMart refused to give me the 3 cents overage.....they just adjusted the coupon down but what really irks me is that they will get the $1.00 from the company for the coupon and went against their own policy

  • everything also needs to be done in a tactful manner, so people need to act like adults and talk like adults

  • I am certainly on board.....let's do it.....have a wonderful evening and a glorious tomorrow

  • Walmart - Please train your staff so that they know your coupon policy. We know what it is, how about training your staff so they know what it is.......Thanks Percilla, you are doing a great job.

  • I think Target and Walmart are the biggest offenders and most people have one near by. I agree with the previous comment about training and educating the managers and cashiers on the coupon policy. I think they need to train them when they are hired and there should be training at least 3-4 times a year. Another angle is to have coupon policies that are the same every where. Managers shouldn't have the right to decide oh you can't use that coupon or whatever.

  • Family Dollar!

  • My suggestion a day to blast ALL the stores with the topic " Couponers Unite - Day of Accountability". Most of our complaints are employees/managers not knowing the store policy re:couponing and rude sales associates. We together can make an impact if we demand the managers/employee treat us as valued customers and these stores TRAIN/EDUCATE their employees/managers on policies regarding coupons. We also need to list our state so the companies will see this is a problem in ALL of their stores.

  • Walmart they have total discrimination against us couponers they don't know how to do a coupon or price match u have to stand in the store for ever and we don't get paid to tell them how to do there job the csm have attitudes all the time so I say Walmart

  • My personal tp 2 offenders are Walmart and target. Walmartis more a personal thing, the way their employees have treated me, making me feel ashamed, embarassed, etc Watching me like I was a theif.. my thing with Target is more what they choose to stock. Just my 2 cents on where to start :)

  • If the store employees knew the policy that would solve 80% of couponing issues. That is the one problem that is across the board no matter what store we shop at. I think that should be the first place to start the action.

  • I think it's important to iterate to ALL of these companies that our form of payment is not illegal and we should not be treated like criminals because of the way we choose to pay, even if it makes something "free". And if we are limited to how many we can have of an item, that should mean that the same holds true for someone who is paying with money. Back to the point I think is critical: we need to not be treated like 2nd-class citizens. :) Great idea BTW!!

  • I think when we hit there fb page we should all mention what state we in or zip code so they can know exactly what stores need to be coached cuz not all the stores are ignorant to couponers!!!!!!

  • Love your videos! As a community organizer with a bunch of experience targeting elected officials, I recommend a couple things. Perhaps having an online survey to narrow down the store/issues to focus. Surveymoney is free and people can vote on which stores to target. Also important is having a "direct ask". Basically that is something we all are asking for from these companies, something tangible and numeric, like "if an employee goes against the stated coupon policy, then the item is free".

  • Sure is a big responsibility that your daring to take on..you ready for it? I'm on board.

  • I just started this month learning from you and others on YouTube. I am willing to join in this movement and seek action for change. Thanks Priscilla for helping me save money and taking time out your busy day to post videos to help others to become successful in couponing!!!!

  • @ansbach74 I've wondered about that too

  • I'm afraid that what we are attempting to do in favor of the consumer/couponer may backfire on us-- like they get rid of coupons or something like that. Is that something that could happen?? Otherwise, yeah, I'm with you especially after my 3-store ordeal this week. Frustrating!

  • @rphillym I really don't think so. Stores make so much money from coupons. They aren't doing us a favor by allowing us to use them. They need us too ... they really ought to treat those of us that help their bottom line, a little better :\

  • @rphillym Keep in mind we are going after the stores not the manufactures of coupons. We should not leave these stores frustrated because we decide to do business with them. Our coupons are the form of payment we choose to use to pay for or towards our merchandise. Coupon usage is a win win for everyone & the stores are being reimbursed 100% the value of the coupons plus a fee. We are an asset to them. Unfortunately, rude uneducated on company policy employees don't know this.

  • I only started doing this couponing 12/24/2011 and I've had a few good deals. These last two weeks were awful deal and product availability wise! But this past Tuesday I went to Walgreens, Family Dollar, and Walmart. I ended up having to call corporate for all 3 stores and finally they all called me back today. Of course I was the one following the policy correctly, not the stores. In the end I got what I wanted a few minutes ago from Walmart and Walgreens. Thx for all you do Priscilla!!!

  • I vote for target and employees not knowing the policy and inconsistencies amongst cashiers and managers

  • I say we start with WALMART. >:| They give me the hardest time. I hope that they start to TEACH their cashiers/managers about their own policies & such. I can't stand shopping there but when there is a too good sale to pass I have to argue & fight with cashiers & managers to use a few coupons.

  • mrs priscillia tell me wht u think of this WALMART-around christmas i ordered online 3 essence bath & body gift sets 9.99 that said as a bonus it came with a free year essence magazine subscription i thought was a great gift for young women when it cae it only had a 3.00 off coupon 4 a magazine not a free year .i called and was given a hard time i wrote corp no answer i just looked on the site it still has on the box now a free year not 300 off coupon. this is false ad & not right 2 customers

  • @angela83211 I suggest contacting the BBB in regaurds to the false ad.

  • you can count me in!

  • I have never understood this - If only 10% coupons are being use why are they limiting us to a few coupons. If you printed 10,000 coupons you should have the merchadise to back it up other wise you are writing a insufficient check. ex. manuf printed 100 coupons only 10 is used. then why place a limit. 90 coupons are not being used. Whats the different if 10 people buy 10 or 100 people buy 1? At the end its 100.

  • I would say to start with the larger retailers like Walmart or Target. I think like others have said it will be important to stay professional and also if possible not just complain but come up with solutions to the problem. For instance training of managers and workers on the store coupon policy and have as a requirement that the policy be printed and available for the cashier at each register. They keep copies of other policies there for review. It would be simple and cheap to implement.

  • I think a statement should also be made to the Manufacturers for limiting coupons to 1 or 2 per shopping trip on the new coupons. Gas is too high to only be able to use 1 or 2 coupons. How is this right you can buy as many as you want but you can only use 1 or 2 coupons. The stores are able to get a discount for buying large amounts but don't want the consumer to get the same benefits.

  • My concern is overages/adjusting down coupons. When they (the retailer) submit their coupons for reimbursement do they get they face value of the coupon are the adjusted down price that they give us?

  • It's a toss up for Walgreens and Walmart for me.

  • I vote we should hit up walmart first and the date Feb.1st is good

  • I cast my vote for Target..! Neither their employees or their managers know their coupon policy. I have wasted valuable time waiting to talk to a manager and then still had to call corporate just for them to tell the manager I was correct! My time is valuable and this wouldn't happen if they knew their own policy. You can count on me...I'm in..Let me know when..!

  • Love the idea!

  • And a big issue in most of the stores is the adjustment of manufacturer's coupons. Why the hell do they adjust a manufacturer's coupon, *cough* CVS *cough*, when they get paid the full amount for the freaking coupon?? They shouldn't make money from coupon.

  • but ill support whatever you guys choose!!!

  • wallgreens sucks!!!!

  • This is a great ideal im with ya guys! ....if i could pick 1 store thats the worst is wallgreens there always out of there sale items there never stocked on the things they have in the sales but...as soon as the sale is over their shelves are full , its like they keep it all hid in back untill the sales over then the next day its there without a truck bringing it in come on waggs how stupid do you think we are? so guys im with ya just pick a store & the topic go pricilla we love you girl!

  • I'm all for it. I think one of the issues we have to fight against is this stupid rule that i know Walgreens and probably other stores have in their policy that ultimately gives the power to the manager to decide if they accept a coupon or not. Why have the other rules if a manager can override it??? And of course they have to train their friking employees, I'm tired of having to teach them their own polices, I don't get paid to do it, I don't want to do it. Plus I'm tired of being told I can't

  • Just let me know when this “Day of Accountability” will take place. I say for all of us who are going to participate in this day; let’s keep it professionally. We state our problems/situations on these companies’ pages/websites if we want them to rectify our problems. Please no rude comments/profanity; because it work both ways. Thanks Priscilla.

  • For me it would be walgreens, they are always rude, now most if the stores only allow one item that produces RR's they even acussed me of coupon fraud because I wanted to separate my transaccions so I could get two of the same product with RR's .

  • great idea! Feb. 1 is a sound date and my store suggestion is WALMART 1.customer service is generally horrible, 2. service seems to be geared to deterring couponers from shopping (when they make up contrary rules and give false information), 3. cashiers and managers alike DO NOT KNOW COUPON POLICY! Same issue with Target however because Walmart has the BEST POLICY/is the biggest retailer out there I believe a united effort for that store would make the biggest impact for ACCOUNTABILITY!.

  • You make me wanna go buy a flexy rod, oh and the coupon thing too, keep us up to date

  • My vote is for Target. Ran into an issue today where they wouldn't take a coupon that had only the new barcode on it. The cashier said the barcode wasn't valid. I made a video talking about it on my new channel I just started yesterday, which is soflacouponer. I also have had a lot of shopping trips to Target where there were issues with their own store coupons not scanning, and employees not having a clue what to do when their registers beep. AND stock issues as well. Lots of problems there.

  • most of the time the prices r to high anyway without a coupon they would never get rid of anything why would u keep someting @ 50- and have it lay around for a year instead of marking it down to 20- and clear the shelf .greed . the truth is we let them miss treat us we still shop @ their stores.put them on blast and make them own up to the policy they made i do not like being n line be n held @ the register for my coupons & the perso behind me look n like iam giving the cashier a hard time

  • I say wallgreens and walmart , I don't have a target , but I will still support whatever store is picked first . xo Jessie

  • I love this idea the store that I believe we should hit first is Walgreens.

  • Fantastic!! I say Target and Walmart... I think it should be our experience's with their ill knowledged staff, cashiers and Managers alike.. Its our job as couponers to understand and learn the policies of the stores we like to shop in, but darn it! they work there and should know too! and stop making up their own as they go! So for sure Im in! I'll be waiting for more info.. :-)

  • I love this idea! My choice would be Target and Walmart!

  • my thing is why put out coupons if u do not want us to use them not everyone use them so why can,t i buy 30 if i have the coupons .i have worked retail and i know they have the cashier so scared with the word write up for every mistake they make some get scared when the total say free and second quess trying to make sure they r right also when they train now they just throw people on a register and go 4 ur self learn as u go no policy training eveything now is a write up people r scared

  • target and walmart!! target accused me of making copies of my prubted coupons and walmsrt aint following their policyvaccepting competitors coupons!!

  • Great Idea!! My thoughts are CVS does not keep good stock on sale items of the Wk, Walgreens..I don't care for the way a Reward should be rolled...I've had run in with awful cashiers at Walmart but its endless for what we encounter as couponers.......I'm with you!

  • TARGET for the first target!!! Most, if not all, do not know their policy. They dnt know that if the coupon exceed the price to manually enter it.

  • I think the repeat offender award goes to Target. I was there a couple of days ago & had a coupon for every item I purchased. The cashier told me that Target just changed & that day the new policy limits 4 coupons per transaction. I had to explain to him that the limit was 4 like items + coupons per transaction. Target is changing their coupon policy weekly. They also tax you on the full price of the items, not the sale price, whether you have coupons or not. Read your receipts!

  • The only way we can control that would be by limiting the number of items you can purchase. There is a limited number of these items. I mean, its not like every walgreens in the country can keep massive quantities of each sale item in the back. So it's a lose lose situation.

  • I work at Walgreens and I completely agree that there are several issues. I have been there for almost two years, and if it weren't for the fact Im a couponer myself, I would have NO idea about the coupon policy. So that is an issue. However, I don't really feel like there is a way to keep sale items in stock. I see it first hand every single day. People come in with massive transactions and buy all of the sale items. If its on the shelf, its in their cart. The only way we can control that woul

  • As far as what store to target first… well there you go. LOL

But all kidding aside, from my short time watching coupon videos on YouTube it looks like Target is the worst offender. But honestly they all need help in some areas, even CVS... i.e. the Pronutient fiasco!

  • All these stores need a whipping. Let's target Target first. LOL

  • walgreens is the worst for me. When I have to explain to the manager the walgreens coupon policy, that is a problem. I am on board with any store.

  • Personally - Walgreens has been the worst place for me to use coupons.

  • Great idea!! Let's consider only targeting one trouble area for each store. If we bombard them with multiple issues at once we may be considered troublemakers, and be disregarded. I know we love to rant, however, we may just get more changes with the spirit of cooperation. I vote we try to make the store better for all by providing a solution rather than just complain. Make it a win/win for the store and consumer. Catching flies with sugar not vinegar.

  • @sandi5918 HEAR HEAR!!!!

  • love this idea! i think target should be first

  • Please make sure everyone post this, leave a comment or start a thread on there favorite blog/website because not all couponers watch youtube

  • Title: "Train your cashiers/managers on your store coupon policy!" for Walmart, then give your experiences in brief! There should be a "tag title" that we should all use at each store's Facebook page, so they know this is a moment. If not, it's just random blah, blah to them.

  • I think this is a great idea for those stores that we have issues with. We might also consider letting stores like CVS know how much we appreciate how good they are to us couponers! just a suggestion.

  • This is a great idea. I am all for this! Family dollar is one of the worst in my opinion, but they all need all so I am on board!

  • I agree, this is an awesome idea. If stores could jus start with trainin their cashier to actually read their coupon policy would be nice

  • This is a super great idea! I'm down for whatever/whichever company or topic we decide. There is definitely strength in numbers so I'll be recruiting too! Thanks for leading the campaign!!

  • I luv it! There are so many coupon issues at many stores that it's so hard to narrow it down. We are customers and deserve to be respected as such! We give them a tremendous amount of sales for their bottom line! When we save money by using coupons in their establishment, they in turn make money. Managers should welcome us with open arms as not only do they get reimbursed for the coupon but they also get monetary compensation for each one submitted! I despise being treated with disrespect

  • As a person that works for myself, I'd like to add this; This is my business, and I've worked hard and when "confronted" I go on the defense, when "discussion" occurs, then I am very open to listen. Retailers want to make their customers happy, and they are fully aware that they are not going to please everyone. My suggestion is not to attack, but to open dialog/ discussion with them. I honestly think that will be much more productive for both the retailer and the coupon/consumer.

  • im in!

  • Target. They need to train their employees on their coupon policy!

  • Walgreens and their darn rr's and how you have to have 1 coupon per item. also their limits of 1 rr per item causing us to do 500 transactions !!! ugh!!!

  • Im all about hitting Walmart and Target....they act a fool on a regular basis and I know Target especially monitors its facebook page closely. But Im so down with all of them...I definitely will be making a video in support.

  • Comment removed

  • We need for these companies to know that we regular hard working tax paying God fearing people: moms, dads, daughters, sons, etc. But the only difference between us and them is that we are SMART because we are doing something about our receding economy and not just complaining about it!

    part 3 of 3.

Thanks for spearheading this Pricilla, this is so awesome

  • Then we can focus on other things like sale items being adequately stocked, cashier/manager professionalism when receiving coupons, suggesting possible revisions to their coupon policies, etc. Also I think it’s important to stress to fellow couponers that we come to these companies in a very professional manner. We don’t want any neck and eye rolling type of posts involved because that’s not what we are about.

    part 2 of 2 but really 3 - LOL

  • @ShandtinaSays Yes I agree totally, but they also need to know that their coupons are used across the board by so many different classes of people, educational background, financial, and race. Keep it professional, but also real as to who we are!

  • I think that we should first start with education! Having the managers and cashiers educated on various types of coupons lingo as well as their own store coupon policy is critical. They need to realize that a coupon is just as good as cash if not better because the store will also receive 8 to 18 cents for each one they receive.

    Part 1 of 2

  • I totally agree with letting the stores know how we are treated, the lack of knowledge, and I think we should also hit the mfrs, as well, with this confusing wording, that also contribute to arguments with cashiers and managers. I think a major store should be first, like Walmart. I have never posted to a youtube channel before, but I always follow you as you are very good at what you do! I never felt the need until now to post. Thank you and you have my support. Let's blow this thing up!

  • Great idea! I think we should start with employees and store policies. As you said before we as consumers should not have to spend time educating employees on a policy they should know. I have had issues with both Wags and Cvs so either of those would be great to start with. Thanks!

  • I vote for Target.

  • Dollar General has to rank in the top 3...

  • I think I am gonna get in on this even though I don't do the couponing thing as much as some of yall but there is strength in numbers....I vote Walgreens since that is where I have been doing most of my couponing lately. I am irritated that they don't have certain advertised products in stock or they are simply not stocking them purposely.

  • @sands70 so true! well said. I hate it when i went to walgreens last week hoping to buy the Abrexin that was in the ad and then they replaced it with this nasty spray bullshit. i was angry at that...also i don't understand the unadvertised RR's that happened with the SmartWater? I did that deal three times btw but why unadvertised?? soo strange.

  • I think we should start with Family Dollar and how the casheirs do not know the coupon policy. At every store I have been to they tell me that they can not take a coupon that would make the item free. I want my Cover Girl tools! lol

  • Please take a look at my video I just posted about Family Dollar. I vote for them!

  • i think we should speak about the fact that store employess do not know their policies and how they should always have a copy at the register so employess can refer to it if they get stumped.

  • I love it Priscilla! I thinmk Family Dollar is the worst offender overall BUT maybe Walgreens is the most popular couponing spot with everyone?
