@gongkeyi007 Thank you very much for your unintentional flattery. Actually, every image in this video was photographed between 2004-2007. Certainly many of these villages (including 1,700 year-old Gongtan in Chongqing) have been bulldozed in recent years during China's new hyper-modernization campaign, but, for the most part, this video is entirely representative of China even in the 21st century. You just have to know where to look :) Thank you and everyone else for your support of my art!
Kaokli, you must be a troll for the Chinese government. They are presently obsessed with bulldozing China's ancient villages like the ones in this video to build up great big glass-and-steel highrises. They too fail to see the beauty in the their own past. It's a shame, really.
@buluby You are 100% correct my friend. Even though I'm not Chinese(I'm Hispanic) I've great admiration for traditional Chinese architecture. The craftsmanship is superb and in some cases more sophisticated than those high rises. I feel sorry for that @Kaokli. He's probably a good person but he's simply ignorant about these things. In this world there are people who likes antiques and there are those that don't. Btw, those shiny modern buildings still uses some traditional principles.

Tibet is NOT China - CCP rule is exploitation and cultural genocide - I Support Free Tibet - a righteous movement and its not terrorism to aid a suppressed and occupied people .
Bloodlovefreak: Tibet has nothing to do with Chinese architecture as "Tibet" was a name created by British imperialists, and so was the propaganda you've been brainwashed with.
Xizang however, its architecture, its people, and its culture have always been part of China!
Xizang my ass, tell that to my friend's great grandmother who's still living..she'll laugh her ass off. Xizang is a term the Chinese govt created in it's bid Han-ify/Chinafy Tibet. FREE TIBET!!!!!!NO self respecting tibetan(meaning pretty much all Tibetans except for a few brainwashed communist pricks) will ever refer to their country as Xizang. Eww!!!!
@heomak The official language in China is Mandarin, so all the provinces in China have an official Mandarin name, makes sense does it? Tibet was part of Nationalist China, and that's before the PRC was created, ever tried to include this in your 'truth'?
tibet is a part of china now but it never was prior to the dumpling face Mao and his brainwashed red army marching into tibet...phey rangzi 4 ever!!!!! No offense to chinese people....but that's just the truth..
I'm about to start studying Architecture shortly, and I believe it's not a matter of whether its hard or not, you have to have a passion for design and the manipulation of space and style. Yes it will be hard, what's easy in life? But it will seem far more difficult if you don't have that initial passion, you will end up designing uninspiring boxes for some large multinational meaningless firm.
My wife, who is Chinese born and raised in Shanghai, and I have seen this book. My wife said it is the best she has seen and captures the heart and soul of China. The pictures represented in this video shows the old and the new--the complexity of an ancient culture with roots into the past several thousand years long. China has fifty-six miniorites yet most of the world only knows about one or two due to the news.
Me encanta China

I think you are mistaken. I meat that the whole "free Tibet" issue has nothing to do with this video and that people should not comment on it.
