  • Me encanta China

  • china has all kind of evil things, so many death camp, secret police, etc etc,,,,,,,china is most hell place in the world, communist kill their against people without any permission necessary, chinese communist party killed historical amount of people, china is perfectly lawless zone for anythings

  • I think the curved roofs of traditonal chinese buldings are beautiful, sometimes with gargoyles in the form of a dragon on the corners...

  • i think china is now more great!

  • This video apparently came from 80s of 20 century, now in 21 century it is diffrent completely.

  • @gongkeyi007 Thank you very much for your unintentional flattery. Actually, every image in this video was photographed between 2004-2007. Certainly many of these villages (including 1,700 year-old Gongtan in Chongqing) have been bulldozed in recent years during China's new hyper-modernization campaign, but, for the most part, this video is entirely representative of China even in the 21st century. You just have to know where to look :) Thank you and everyone else for your support of my art!

  • Love the marvels of ancient Chinese architecture.

    Faye Wooooooonnnnngggg! <3

  • Kaokli, you must be a troll for the Chinese government. They are presently obsessed with bulldozing China's ancient villages like the ones in this video to build up great big glass-and-steel highrises. They too fail to see the beauty in the their own past. It's a shame, really.

  • @buluby These villages are situated in rural areas. Would you think it highrises fit with the skyline of that of a rural area?

  • @buluby You are 100% correct my friend. Even though I'm not Chinese(I'm Hispanic) I've great admiration for traditional Chinese architecture. The craftsmanship is superb and in some cases more sophisticated than those high rises. I feel sorry for that @Kaokli. He's probably a good person but he's simply ignorant about these things. In this world there are people who likes antiques and there are those that don't. Btw, those shiny modern buildings still uses some traditional principles.

  • i do this for a living come and check them out

  • As do you see what hapens, when Modernism crash the Chinese Culture, I am seen guethos in

Xanghai, Xian. Are destroy the chinese traditions,

with this western bad taste. That could work in USA, but not here.

  • great video! :)

  • China takes the win when it comes to architecture.

  • they were part of china.

  • Bloodlovefreak: Tibet has nothing to do with Chinese architecture as "Tibet" was a name created by British imperialists, and so was the propaganda you've been brainwashed with.

Xizang however, its architecture, its people, and its culture have always been part of China!

  • I think you are mistaken. I meat that the whole "free Tibet" issue has nothing to do with this video and that people should not comment on it.

  • Then my apologies!

  • Xizang my ass, tell that to my friend's great grandmother who's still living..she'll laugh her ass off. Xizang is a term the Chinese govt created in it's bid Han-ify/Chinafy Tibet. FREE TIBET!!!!!!NO self respecting tibetan(meaning pretty much all Tibetans except for a few brainwashed communist pricks) will ever refer to their country as Xizang. Eww!!!!

  • @heomak

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

    XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • i'm glad i shut u up. that's what the truth does to ppl.

  • @heomak

    No , No

Your comment just showed how stupid and brainless you are.

I can not stop laughing when I see it.

    =)

  • @heomak The official language in China is Mandarin, so all the provinces in China have an official Mandarin name, makes sense does it? Tibet was part of Nationalist China, and that's before the PRC was created, ever tried to include this in your 'truth'?

  • because tibet is a part of china

    you fucking brainless retard

  • I was replying to DrPork4freedom regarding his comments about Tibet.

  • tibet is a part of china now but it never was prior to the dumpling face Mao and his brainwashed red army marching into tibet...phey rangzi 4 ever!!!!! No offense to chinese people....but that's just the truth..

  • i think the first one in WuYuan and it's in JiangXi NOT Anhui

  • im doing architecture for collage if anyone else is doing it i have two clear question (i) is it worth it (ii) how and why?

  • I don't understand: are you doing a "collage" - putting together a mixture of photos? Or are you attending "college" and majoring in architecture?

  • sorry i meant college and i want to kno the information on it because i dont know anyone that has done it before and aparantly its VERY HARD

  • I'm about to start studying Architecture shortly, and I believe it's not a matter of whether its hard or not, you have to have a passion for design and the manipulation of space and style. Yes it will be hard, what's easy in life? But it will seem far more difficult if you don't have that initial passion, you will end up designing uninspiring boxes for some large multinational meaningless firm.

  • Beautiful! Can anyone tell what's the song playing on the background?

  • Great post, chinaphotographer!! Read many of Tom Carters books.... he is a fantastic PHOTOGRAPHER! lol

He should leave architecture to the architects, though!

Thank you.... some beautiful imagery! (Tianjin, though??!!) The peace of that city was RUINED!

  • Fujhan tea house i think that was

  • very nice! can't wait to make it over there

  • absolutely amazing

    thank you.

  • My wife, who is Chinese born and raised in Shanghai, and I have seen this book. My wife said it is the best she has seen and captures the heart and soul of China. The pictures represented in this video shows the old and the new--the complexity of an ancient culture with roots into the past several thousand years long. China has fifty-six miniorites yet most of the world only knows about one or two due to the news.
