Does the .460 come in a 4" barrel? I'd rather have that than the .500 since you can shoot .454Casull and .45 colt out of it at a lower price. Plus, I think the concussive blast is harder on the .460 than the .500.
@mikeb1444 no the 460 wont come with a 4 inch barell, only with the 8 3/8 inch and 5 inch barells as far as i know (and the 5 inch I cant find anymore on the sw page and on different retailers, dont ask me why). the 460 is a great and very versatile gun. but its not as impressing as the 500 to shoot if you ask me (only louder) but those things depend on what load u use anyway...
I'm not about to start reloading just to shoot .500's real cheap. If the local gun laws allow, and the rifling allows, I'll just get a standard .460 and make it a 5" barrel.
@mikeb1444 yeah but factory 460 loads are normally more expensive than the 500s. at least in my country... I own a 4inch 500sw by the way and Im quite happy with it. the problem with the 460 is that the cyllinder doesnt really like if you shoot different calibers out of it. gotta mention that if you shoot 45s or 454s out of it all the time, the extraction of the 460 shells will not be easy anymore!
They're pretty cheap over here. The local gunshop has .460's $5 more than .45's.
Yeah, it's true that the shells get stuck if you don't clean the cylinder. But cheap ammo for plinking days, and Hardcore ammo for other days is nice when you can use the same gun. It's like a .357 for .38.
Same thing happens with .38s in a .357. Its worth the cleaning hassle though for the saved money on plinking ammo. Not to mention .38 brass is basically free while .357 brass might as well be quarters.
They say you need a ccw permit when they see a gun shaped bulge in your shirt, but when they see the outline of a cannon with a handle on it, they consider it open carry, so it's totally legal.
I just bought a S&W 460 Performance Center Model and fired everything from the 45lc to the 460s and the cylinder now has burn marks on it. Is there any way to get them off or are they permanent? Also that is an awesome ring of fire.
in italy can't have that...fuck :(

on your m38 vids, do the 9130s have the muzzle blast?
soixe1997 2 years ago
No, the 91/30s have virtually no fireball. Need the shorter barrel to produce the fireball.
