Yes, we have freedom of speech in this country - though it is mostly intended to ensure freedom of the press - yet 'freedom of speech' does not mean you can say whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want, and to whoever you want without some kind of accountablity.

So yes, this was supposed to be a peaceful protest, but this ignorant old bitch with her ridiculous cross made it not so.
I'm not saying she did not have the right to express her opionion, I'm just saying she is lucky she didn't get her ass beat down. Their stomping the cross was pretty sedate. This story was not even newsworthy.

all she did was hold a cross she didnt do shit wrong it was stupid yes but she did nothing wrong. gay people interupt mass at catholic churches all the time and no one does anything to them. and who do you keep replying to? and saying i will try agian... the last comment (mine) is from 3 days ago. and before that is a month ago. oh and freedom of speech does mean i can say whatever i want when i want.

I agree she did nothing wrong and it was stupid - I just don't agree she was innocent - she specifically went there to provoke a response.
I have not heard about gays interupting any mass, but if they did it's their right to do so, and they deserve what happens to them when they do (accountability)

No, freedom of speech does not allow you to say what you want when you want; for example, if you say 'i have a bomb' on a plane your ass is going to prison - bomb or no bomb. Outside of things like that, yeah, you can express your opinion (like in here), but 'freedom of speech' does not mean 'freedom from getting your ass beat down by some people you just pissed off'. FoS only [somewhat] protects you from persecution by your own government - not from the people around you. Get it now?

Maybe so, but that is assault and it has nothing to do with freedom of speech. And if he did that, and did get beat down, there is no guarantee he'd win the suit - especially if he incited the aggravation. Moreover, people are going to talk discrimination no matter what, but what people talk about is irrelevant. If you would just stop being so pissed off and really read what I am writing instead of what you think I am writing - i think that might help you understand.

Anewman you're about as objective to religious protesting as Keith Olbermann at a tea party gathering. Not once have i called gays any kind of nasty name but you always gleefully take the time to insult the old lady and anyone else with the nastiest epithets that you can pull out of your intolerant brain.
