Everyone knows this. Cirque du freak is an amazing book series. It was hard to read more than 300 pages of twilight. I read 3 cirque du freak books in a day and i was dying to read more.

@taschaeleven I want to add that, even though they are fantasy books, CdF was realistic by choices, reactions, personality, etc., while Twilight, it was very predictable. Like it was obvious that Bella was gonna fall for Edward and that they are gonna have a baby and lib hapeleh ebar aftah. Fantasy isn't supposed to be real but that doesn't mean that the character shouldn't be realistic in personality and choices. I am just saying though.

The only circus I've seen doesn't have freaks, it has clowns and acrobats. It's just bullocks. I'll stick with Twilight, Let The Right One In, and Anne Rice.

Twilight is good, I've read it. It was disappointing though. @DarkDreymer I don't judge you for not wanting to read a book based on it's first chapter. I put down CDF during the introduction because it sounded like a standardized test story of a child that's going on and on about spiders. It was boring. I thought Cirque du Freak was utter childish shit, but it made a fun not-so-scary Scare Zone at Universal Studios for Halloween Horror Nights. You would've probably enjoyed it far more than I did.
I absolutely love the Cirque Du Freak saga, the Demonata and pretty much any other work by Darren Shan...BUT I really like that Twilight series as well. And I read the first two, Twilight and New Moon, BEFORE the movies came and the sensation hit. And although I do like it, I do agree that it is over rated though. These series aren't even comparable because the vampires are totally different. && how can you say you're too old to enjoy the CDF saga!?! You're never too old!
@0xXxStella23xXx0 The fact that the vampires are so different was my main reason for making the comparison. Both Shan and Meyer created non-traditional vampires and cast them as the heroes, but Shan pulled it off much more competently. As for out-growing the series, they are young adult books and I've sadly bridged the gap into full-fledged adulthood. I still like the series but they're a touch too immature in the way the themes are handled to be enjoyable anymore. Thanks for the comment though.

I read both book series... I find them equaly well done, but for other reasons. But Twilight is truthfuly speaking a book for females. Men are not expected to unterstand. And the saga of darren shan is more an action book. Thus you cannot compare a romantic thriller and an action horror with each other. Well, Twilight was a lot of filler, and I actually liked New Moon and Eclipse, but Breaking Dawn was terrible.
With CDF, I haven't read the books, I plan to start tomorrow, but from THE MOVIE, I don't like how they turn or how they feed. The whole finger prick thing, and the sucking from shoulders from a finger prick. I guess, and I thought Vampaneze was kind of a dumb name. I did like the movie, but I guess I need to read the books. The only thing I loved about the movie was Snake boy!!!
I saw the other videos by xIHeartSorax too. Both you and her have some very good reasons and support to why you don't like the Twilight sereies and why Cirque Du Freak is wayyy better! I would make my own videos like this (Having read both series, they wouldn't be able to bash me about not finishing it) but I am so camera shy, it's not funny. i have finished the cirque de freak series in 2 months all 12 books and i must say it is much better than twilight. 1 reason is that anyone can go to vampire moutain and be try to be a vampire prince but in twlight one family rules everything it more dicator ship then anything else. darren shan series is more distriptive it keeps you comming the vampire ways are less violent and there a charters more powerufl then an vampire. in twilight vampire are suppose to be the strongest and its violent
Actually, not everybody can go to the Vampire Mountain to become a prince. They can be accepted as a general but to be a prince is more different than taking the trials of initiation.
I don't think you should really compare which book is better because you said you did not finish twilight but I can understand if you don't like twilight. To me I have read twilight and the Cirque Du Freak series absolutly love both series also. To me both book sagas are amazing. I respect your opinions but everyone has different opinions of these books and can't we all respect the books instead of camparing them constantly and saying which one is better.
Yeah I read that the next series is gonna be about Mr. Crepsley on the Secret Shanville site. I'm torn, because I've been telling myself for some time now I've outgrown the series and yet he is by far my favourite character so a chance to learn more about him would be awesome. I read Twilight because my friend said I should read it because then I had the right to legally hate it. (: I liked the video, but some constructive criticism - it could be a fit faster / you could use some cuts. That's all.
To me really the only bad thing about Twilight is Bella. She is annoying and her low self esteem bothers me. Those kind of vamps in another story could be good. Cirque du Freak is okay, but some things bug me like how they age and eat human food. The idea that women don't make good vamps bugs me too. Why wouldn't they? And their society and traditions seem too tyrannical to me. If I was a vamp no one would tell me what to do.
Actually in the books it never said that women don't make good vampires, i mean look at Arra Sails, but what they mean is that most women prefer to have a family than lead a dangerous life alone. Secondly their society is based on traditions and everyone knows how hard traditions are to break, also if you're a powerful vampire rules wud hav 2 b placed to keep you in order.

The idea of vampires having some kind of unique skin doesn't bother me. In the Anne Rice series she described hers as luminescent which is sort of like shiny. Sparkles is a bad word to use I think. The book said they shined like diamonds were imbedded deep in their skin. That's kind of neat to me. And in any case I'm not a homophobic male who thinks it sounds gay or something.

But I would like to say at 8:07 that you do not introduce the major plot point in the first chapter.
If you are a fan of the Demonata series you would know in both Lord Loss and Demon Thief, Darren introduces the main plot within the 2nd chapter in both books. That is the plot surrounding Lord Loss.
I'm sorry I guess I wasn't entirely clear with what I meant. In Twilight the moment Edward is introduced Bella shows signs of attraction toward him and it is suggested she plans to ask him out. In Lord Loss and Demon Thief the character of Lord Loss appears in the first chapter or so, but his role in the plot does not become aparent until much later on. In Lord Loss when Dervish explains why Lord Loss was in Grubbs home and at the end of Demon Thief where the final twist is revealed.

I personally prefer The Demonata even though I read the saga first. But have you checked Darren's Myspace. He has revealed what his next series will be. A nice little surprise but he was hinting at it for months on his blog.
I haven't heard what Darren Shan's next series is going to be, but as I said in the videos I feel I've kinda grown beyond the Saga and I'm only finishing up the Demonata as I've started it and want to see it through to the end so unless the new series really intrigues me I'll likely leave it alone.
if you only read the first the first chapter you think its only introducing who she is and its more of a diary log so if you were a girl you wouldn't groan on about leaving because if you look back in the diary you don't wont to be upset and home sick + it came to her in a dream
If the book were written in diary format like Bridget Jones's Diary or The Secret Diary Of Adrian Mole I could understand your argument, but the book in written in first-person, present tense prose and so my argument about the rather cluttered first chapter still stands. Also I must note I didn't say the chapter about leaving Phoenix would be entirely groaning and I think it shows something about your interpretation of the character that you assume it would.
Also, the fact that the idea for Twilight came to Stephenie Meyer in a dream bears no relevancy to the eventual quality of the book. Creative ideas can come from any and all aspects of life but it is the way in which the ideas become words on a page that judge whether it is a good book.

I read both book series... I find them equaly well done, but for other reasons. But Twilight is truthfuly speaking a book for females. Men are not expected to unterstand. And the saga of darren shan is more an action book. Thus you cannot compare a romantic thriller and an action horror with each other. It´s like comparing a chocolate pudding with a spagetti bolognese. (1/2)

Thank you for this. This made me really happy to watch. Iroically, I'm re-doing my reasons later on today. I took them down to re-do so there's better sound and reasons, but seeing this gave me back my confidence in my defence for Darren Shan. Thank you so much.

Well, Twilight was a lot of filler, and I actually liked New Moon and Eclipse, but Breaking Dawn was terrible.
With CDF, I haven't read the books, I plan to start tomorrow, but from THE MOVIE, I don't like how they turn or how they feed. The whole finger prick thing, and the sucking from shoulders from a finger prick. I guess, and I thought Vampaneze was kind of a dumb name. I did like the movie, but I guess I need to read the books. The only thing I loved about the movie was Snake boy!!!

I saw the other videos by xIHeartSorax too. Both you and her have some very good reasons and support to why you don't like the Twilight sereies and why Cirque Du Freak is wayyy better! I would make my own videos like this (Having read both series, they wouldn't be able to bash me about not finishing it) but I am so camera shy, it's not funny. So kudos to you and the others that post videos like this and getting your opinions out there! ^_^

i have finished the cirque de freak series in 2 months all 12 books and i must say it is much better than twilight. 1 reason is that anyone can go to vampire moutain and be try to be a vampire prince but in twlight one family rules everything it more dicator ship then anything else. darren shan series is more distriptive it keeps you comming the vampire ways are less violent and there a charters more powerufl then an vampire. in twilight vampire are suppose to be the strongest and its violent

Actually, not everybody can go to the Vampire Mountain to become a prince. They can be accepted as a general but to be a prince is more different than taking the trials of initiation.

I don't think you should really compare which book is better because you said you did not finish twilight but I can understand if you don't like twilight. To me I have read twilight and the Cirque Du Freak series absolutly love both series also. To me both book sagas are amazing. I respect your opinions but everyone has different opinions of these books and can't we all respect the books instead of camparing them constantly and saying which one is better.

Yeah I read that the next series is gonna be about Mr. Crepsley on the Secret Shanville site. I'm torn, because I've been telling myself for some time now I've outgrown the series and yet he is by far my favourite character so a chance to learn more about him would be awesome. So I guess I'm gonna give in and read it :D

To me really the only bad thing about Twilight is Bella. She is annoying and her low self esteem bothers me. Those kind of vamps in another story could be good. Cirque du Freak is okay, but some things bug me like how they age and eat human food. The idea that women don't make good vamps bugs me too. Why wouldn't they? And their society and traditions seem too tyrannical to me. If I was a vamp no one would tell me what to do.

Actually in the books it never said that women don't make good vampires, i mean look at Arra Sails, but what they mean is that most women prefer to have a family than lead a dangerous life alone. Secondly their society is based on traditions and everyone knows how hard traditions are to break, also if you're a powerful vampire rules wud hav 2 b placed to keep you in order.

The idea of vampires having some kind of unique skin doesn't bother me. In the Anne Rice series she described hers as luminescent which is sort of like shiny. Sparkles is a bad word to use I think. The book said they shined like diamonds were imbedded deep in their skin. That's kind of neat to me. And in any case I'm not a homophobic male who thinks it sounds gay or something.

i love darren shan he's the only author that I can go through his books within a day whereas I would need a good week to read a book ha
But I would like to say at 8:07 that you do not introduce the major plot point in the first chapter.
If you are a fan of the Demonata series you would know in both Lord Loss and Demon Thief, Darren introduces the main plot within the 2nd chapter in both books. That is the plot surrounding Lord Loss.

I'm sorry I guess I wasn't entirely clear with what I meant. In Twilight the moment Edward is introduced Bella shows signs of attraction toward him and it is suggested she plans to ask him out. In Lord Loss and Demon Thief the character of Lord Loss appears in the first chapter or so, but his role in the plot does not become aparent until much later on. In Lord Loss when Dervish explains why Lord Loss was in Grubbs home and at the end of Demon Thief where the final twist is revealed.

I personally prefer The Demonata even though I read the saga first. But have you checked Darren's Myspace. He has revealed what his next series will be. A nice little surprise but he was hinting at it for months on his blog.

I haven't heard what Darren Shan's next series is going to be, but as I said in the videos I feel I've kinda grown beyond the Saga and I'm only finishing up the Demonata as I've started it and want to see it through to the end so unless the new series really intrigues me I'll likely leave it alone.

if you only read the first the first chapter you think its only introducing who she is and its more of a diary log so if you were a girl you wouldn't groan on about leaving because if you look back in the diary you don't wont to be upset and home sick + it came to her in a dream

If the book were written in diary format like Bridget Jones's Diary or The Secret Diary Of Adrian Mole I could understand your argument, but the book in written in first-person, present tense prose and so my argument about the rather cluttered first chapter still stands. Also I must note I didn't say the chapter about leaving Phoenix would be entirely groaning and I think it shows something about your interpretation of the character that you assume it would.

Also, the fact that the idea for Twilight came to Stephenie Meyer in a dream bears no relevancy to the eventual quality of the book. Creative ideas can come from any and all aspects of life but it is the way in which the ideas become words on a page that judge whether it is a good book.
