@WhiteGlintfan you need to give the size and type of shark, saying it was bigger than A shark is pointless. Sharks come in all shapes and sizes, that's like saying ive seen one bigger than a car
I saw these also, they weren't as big as this one, they were only about 20-50 lbs, we were fishing and out the back of the boat, there were a bunch of seagulls in the water, then we saw a fin sticking out of the water rite in the middle of the seagulls. So my brother grabbed his gopro video camera and got gr8 footage of them, there were about 10 of them, and u can see the video on my brother's channel (alilbitoeverything) it will b uploaded soon:)
@imnodoubtflatout Boring? I think not. Basking sharks are in Irish water. A sperm whale washed up just last week, Pilot whales, porpoises, dolphins, seals, Sea turtles, all just to name a few. I mean the expression "Right in our own back yard"
Finger, bubbles, splish-splash, clickety-clackety, what's that?, oh crap a gnarly big fish! Actually, these things get way huge! That looked like just a baby.
@orangepeel1960 Its a Sunfish. They are called Sunfish because they tend to float sideways on the surface of the water and they look like the Sun. They are totally harmless and tend to be curious. But all in all they are cool
@USBornSoccerPlayer Thanks for that and I apologise, I didn't watch it all the way through.... it isn't dead! ;). I was diving in Spain recently and one swam right past me and above me (didnt have a camera! :( )
I was with French and Spanish divers and they called it a Moonfish which is how it translates from French and Spanish. But yes I've since found out that its a Sunfish in English.
lovely creature... is it ever interesting... thanks. But why didn't you post only the part with the actual fish instead of 1 minute of water and me going ... uhhh, where's the fish??? :)
I love how awkward they look x) Were you diving? I'm just curious, how is the diving off Donegal? Is it worth doing or is it like "yeah sometimes you get awesome finds, but most of the time it's just murky water"
my exact same question. But ive seen other videos and it looks like 3 times the size of adult humans. I really wonder if this camera is zoomed in or not
fantastic stuff, check out my video off cornwall, not as good as yours though. The more you see of these fish the wierder they seem-as if they've been cut in half, stitched up,&healed up,then carried on as normal.
You lucky bugger! Nice moment to capture. Hope I get to swim near one, one day (and the way our summer's going it doesn't look like it'll be this year!).
From a video point of view though I don't know why you showed us the first 45-50 secs... they didn't really give me much sense of the story/event anyhow. Still, great shots of the fish itself.
I assume some of the clicking sounds were from the good old Irish lobsters doing their thing?
You could probably find some free (open-source) software online. There seem to be a fair few options for PC users if that's what you're on. If you're on a mac you'll have fewer to pick from though.
@ShaneyMc13 Actually youtube has a video editor that will allow you to do that, but it is fairly basic. Go to youtube and type /editor at the end of the url.
_____I thought the background sound was somebody popping open a can of Guinness and drinking it. Well, somebody would HAVE to drink more than a few gallons of Guiness before they're feeling brave enough to go into the friggin' OCEAN! Look, there's nothing in the ocean but fish urine and things that want to eat humans. What's the point of going down there? Wow, you can look at the monsters before they kill. Save ocean exploration for the experts. We keep this up, we just might wake up Cthulhu.
What the fuck IS that!!!! I've only ever dove in the carribean.. If I dove over there and that thing came along without proper prior warning being given pre-dive, I'd shit my wetsuit!
Don't worry, they don't eat people! :D They can't close their mouths, so they can't chomp on you! Unless you stuck your arm down their throats. But I've seen one in real life, it was about 10 feet long... I hear they can weigh around 2500lbs...
wohoo great stuff with the sound of the bubbles I felt like i was there ! Sun Fish or Moon Fish I came close to one in Waters near waterford and was scared and thrilled by the strange giant !! *****
They get to 14 feet long and can weigh 4,000+ pounds... Thanks for posting this great video... and just think, you didn't have to go to Bali to see it!
