The soil goes in the resin tub at the top. You can put 1.3 cu ft of soil in the tub to grow both the tomatoes or peppers down and vegetables, herbs or flowers up. Because the tub is raised, you will have to water the plants more often than if it were planted in the ground. Hope this helps!
@acehardware I didn't get any planting instructions with mine. How do you plant the plants? Do you take the little caps out of leave them in? Do you place the tomato plants in before the soil or do you poke them in from the bottom? Where do I get the instructions? (I'm not very smart....)
How about watering? How many days can you go without watering? Is there a reservoir? We travel for a week or two at a time and have problems insuring there will be water a plenty and tomatoes seem to take a lot of water.
well gee...put 4 sticks in the ground and hang a basket with ahole in the bbottom and you got a free tomato tower...

Not enough information! Where do you place the soil for the hanging plants? I agree w/ the watering - how often, how much - tomatoes are picky.
