  • um...can a semi auto be converted to full auto

  • @pivotnoob236 If you're a Class 07 Manufacturer, or a member of one of Eric Holder's favorite drug cartels, yes. If not, no.

  • I think the PPS-43 is one of the most effective submachine guns ever built, not to mention beautiful too. It is light and excellent for urban combat, especially for flushing out and dispatching enemies hiding in rooms, cellars or alleys. The 7.62x25mm round packs a huge wallop at extended range so with a top-mounted sight and a good stance, you can take out enemies up to at least 200 yards.

  • "In Soviet Russia, gun fires YOU!!"

  • fucking russians

  • this and other soviet firearms from ww2 to korea are still in service by many back water militarys in many countries. the m44 and ppsh and sks are stil in service you would be suprised how many armies still use a bolt action m44

  • in soviet russia trees make us angry

  • @Ranger360counterstrk Same thing.

  • No safety, no semi-auto, no accuracy, and the cheapest submachine gun probably ever. Typical Russian equipment. The good thing is that you can't break it.

  • @mechmusician Exactly. No safety = faster to start firing

no accuracy = accuracy not needed

no semiauto = useless with low accuracy, not needed in close quarters.

  • @mechmusician

The PPSH-43 does have a safety. I've handled one, it's in front of the trigger on the right side of the weapon. Pulling it to the rear pulls a huge metal plate up which prevents the bolt from travelling, and the trigger being pulled. You also need to engage it to strip the weapon. Best way to carry one of these things is to have a magazine loaded and the bolt forward (it's open bolt). Only takes a split second to cock it

  • When fpsR Russia is in the army?

  • Fascinating weapon, the PPS-43. It seems to me more like an automatic carbine than a sub-machine gun. Can anyone tell me what the effective range of this weapon is.

  • @Lucasisgek82 Well, the sights are flip sights that go out to 100 and 200 meters... so yeah.

  • @Lucasisgek82: 300-500 mts, like all SMGs/ARs, the difference is that the 7,62 bullet makes somewhat safe from overpenetration vis a vis 9 mm or the Thompsons 11,43 in crowded areas, albeit more powerful than 5,56. A bullet will keep flying until it hits something or someone; the heavier slug, the more things it can hit before being totally crushed.

  • All you CoD fags making refernces to black ops can STFU this is a real gun with real ammo. They aren't hitting the righ bumper or R1 button on a controller, they are pulling a REAL trigger.

  • reznov&mason

  • in soviet russia.....nah fuck it done to death

  • viktor reznov

  • was the pps-43 like a copy of the mp40 except with a banana clip with it?

  • @stitches611 about as much as M3 Grease Gun was

  • @stitches611

    No.

  • Why 71 bullets and not 70 :). I always thought that was a glitch in world at war :D

  • @PoopTruffles The bullet in the chamber when u reload the mag.

  • @XxCalypsoxX616 What?

  • @PoopTruffles Whne you reload a gun BEFORE the mag is empty then chances are that a bullet will still be in the chamber of the gun when u reload, hence one more bullet then the amount in the mag.

  • @XxCalypsoxX616 Why does it have 71 bullets all the time in call of duty then :>

  • @PoopTruffles Call of duty is a game, they dont go for realism. Unlike in medal of honor when u reload the mag when its still full u get one more round but in CoD the magazine is always the same. Please in the future don't put CoD comments in a REAL gun video because it pisses a lot of people off -_-

  • @XxCalypsoxX616 :D I bet your one of the people that are pissed :>

  • @PoopTruffles On a certain level, yes I am.

  • @XxCalypsoxX616 :>

Would you be pissed if I farted

  • comes with every russian happy meal!

  • where did you buy

  • PPSh-41s' drum magazine was finnish design.

  • @unchartedfan818 oh... cut the crap

  • @unchartedfan818 Awesome, sir

  • go head? go

  • dude the ppsh 43 is not beter then the ppsh41 urrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @wolf8255 yes it is.. lighter and more practical.. more stabile and acurate.. my opinion..

  • @wolf8255

You know what the number usually stands for in the name of a firearm, right?

  • Russian submachinegun

  • H with an H

  • @zaprs what?

  • @SgtZaqq ppsh

  • @zaprs it's PPS, not PPSh

  • @SgtZaqq liar i have the same gun...well my dad does and its ppsH

  • @zaprs your dad has PPSh, not PPS, I think...

  • @zaprs

    There's the PPD34, PPD34/38, PPD40, PPSH41, PPS42 and PPS43.

  • @1994WN ................o

  • @SgtZaqq

    There's a PPS AND a PPSh.

    PPSh stands for

    (P)istolet (P)ulemjot (Sh)pagina.

  • @cifeso no way! I know even russian names. zaprs said that it is PPSh in video, when it is PPS.

  • @SgtZaqq

I used to think the same thing, but after I saw your comment, I did a little more research to doublecheck. Have you ever been to the website worldguns? Has basically everygun, and the history behind them. :DD

PPSh - 41 was the early model and the PPS was the improved version developed a couple years later. :D

  • @cifeso once I talked with worldguns owner and author... Yeah, PPS was developed in Leningrad during its siege as a cheap SMG. PPSh was good, but its magazine was not very reliable and it was REALLY heavy.

  • @cifeso and of course I mean that there is PPS in video, not PPSh ;) I little confuse you, sorry. Of course PPS and PPSh both exist.

  • @SgtZaqq

    Ahahaha!!!

Yes, this video certainly is a PPS. I don't really like the PPS though...I prefer the PPSh, of course the PPS is much better...

  • @cifeso some authors say that PPS is the best WWII SMG. The only thing I don't like with PPS (and with PPSh too) is how you must hold it. Modern era SMGs like MP5 are really comfortable comparing to WWII era SMGs.

  • @SgtZaqq

That's the exact same thing I dislike about it, too!

Today, it's pretty much considered retarded to hold any gun by its mag for obvious reasons.

  • this is really strange with the /b/ Christmas music in the background

  • meantexanguy u crack me up. Your statement went over the head of Most of them.

    Like our Government Reps.

  • The thing with the PPsh-41 was that it had such a high rate of fire, but the drum mags (which were the only efficient way to use it, since it had such a high rof) were quite prone to jam. Also, when dropped, it was prone to slam fire, and when it has 75 rounds at that rof, that's bad. The PPsh-43 was overshadowed and forgotten because the of the production of an intermediate cartridge, first widely used in the SKS, then the AK-47.

  • @Natejitsu The ppsh 43 never existed, its a pps 43 - a common mistake but they are not of the same lineage. Another interesting fact is although the soviet M43 cartridge - the intermediate cartridge - was invented in 1943 it played no significant role in the war, and the sks was never adopted to a point where it saw major production until 1949 - the pps was invented during the seige of stalingrad and is currently made in a semi auto configuration for export to the us from poland

  • @nojustfinch you forget about SKS rifle, chambered in M43 cartdidge.

  • In soviet Russia Gun fire you!!

  • @gerardino26 No no it doesnt.

  • does it jam like the PPSh-41 does?

  • It would be great to have this gun plus CZ 52 pistol as side arm which uses the same 7.62x25 submachine gun ammo .

  • @xxXKAZHXxx drums were not relible :|

  • beutiful!

  • if there was a zombie attack i would want this gun.... and mabey an AK-47

  • lame

  • does it jam often as sten?

  • wheres teh extended magz??

  • The pps-43 never had a drum magazine. The PPSH-41 had the famous 71 round drum mag.

    Do your homework next time

  • PPS-43 never had an extended mag, it was only made in limited numbers in Leningrad with a banana mag.

Even the PPSH-41 stopped using the drum mag and switched to a stick. If you want to see an extended mag go look for a PPSH-41 and shove it up your ass.

  • @daevildude45 no you play to much cod

  • @thetoddg

Lol the guy probably didn't realize you need a full university degree on guns before he's allowed to comment on video's on a public website featuring them.

  • @thetoddg what are you talking about?

  • @thetoddg After the war some drums were converted to fit in the PPS. but they are very rare.

  • Its PPS (SUDAEV)

  • pps 45

  • PPS-43 was best in WW2!!!

  • PPS43 was a best at time WW2

  • No way man , the barell of PPS43 overheats very quickly ! MP -40 is much better !

  • well when ur in a gun fight, you dont unload as fast as u can, but aim and shoot slowely, if u do this it wont over head the barrel

  • @remingt the MP-40 doesn't even have anything to keep it from overheating. EVERY FULL AUTO GUN HAS THIS PROBLEM.... except for old ww1 maxims, that are water cooled....

  • @777TNT777 NA i believe the STG 44 or the mp44

  • @cptmawsome STG44 - automatic assauit rifle .....

  • @777TNT777 no it was PPSH-41

  • @777TNT777 ppsh 41 was

  • @777TNT777 are you kiddin me?

  • because there wasnt a PPS 43 there was a PPSH-41

  • PPSh-41 was made in 1941. PPSh-43 replaced it in 1943.

  • @jangofett552

    Wrong, I have one in my hand right now. A P P S - 43

the ppsh-41 is the predecessor of the pps43

  • that is the pps not mp 40

not ppsh not ppsh43 PPS its a PPS

  • im pretty sure thats a pps43. the mp40 does not look like that nor does it have a curved magazine.

  • how do u know there was not a curved mag for the nazi in ww2

  • what a retard... mp40s are metal, not wood and have a straight mag

  • thats not wood DUMB ASS

  • well, it definitely isnt an mp40. the ppsh43 was all metal with a curved magazine, and how the fuck can you know your gun sounds? Go back to CoD world at war

  • Yeah i agree

  • @lt4444444 thats a pps-43, u fail, it has curved mag, stock that folds over the reciever not under, ventalation holes in a barrel shroud, an mp40 lacks a barrel shroud completely and a bolt on the opposite side, if this was an mp40 the bolt would be on the left side, u fail, go back to playing ur wwii computer games please, leave firearm identification to people who know wut they are talking about

  • @nojustfinch dude just cause someone gets somethin wrong doesn't mean u have to be a jerk about it u and people like u ruin guns for everyone

  • @rubberduky55 nahh im just making sure incorrect info aint getting passed around like so many comments are full of, but ok, im sure im ruining guns for someone

  • @nojustfinch yea just some guys get offense about it and ur like what the hell

  • Comment removed

  • Well, the army has done to some point. Some troops are armed with the M1 Garand as well as some PPSH 41 that were captured. Personally, I think they should be using the STG 44s that were found there. At any rate, the Army say that M1 Garand has more of a kick to it than the M16s that being use.

  • cuz i believe m1 is 7.62 and m16 is 5.56

  • The M1 Garand is 30.06. The M1 Carbine is .30 cal. The M1 Thompson SMG is .45 cal.

  • 7.62, 30.06 and .30 are all the same. oh and you forgot the m1 abrams, which is 105mm. m1a1 and m1a2 abrams is 120mm

  • 1. Really? They're all the same? Are they just different lengths? Hmm.

    2. I purposefully didn't include the M1 tank because it's a fucking tank, not a gun.

    3. I didn't know if it was .30-06 or 30.06, and I didn't care to look it up. Thanks for the correction.

  • i put it cuz it has M1. and thank you for not freaking out when i corrected you like all the other morons on youtube

  • Hahah, well my not freaking out is owed to your not being a jerk when correcting me "like all the other morons on Youtube."

Also, if you wanted to get technical, the gun of the Abrams is the M256A1 (thanks Wikipedia), but that's just nitpicking at facts within facts.

  • and technically its .30-06 not 30.06

  • thompson is .45 ACP wich is a 45 cal just in a pistol cartrige. its a slow round but once that thing gets goin theres no stoppin it

  • @dustinscoot iraq??? you kidding me??? i dont want to have a M1garand while im fighting with a 30 round AK

  • @theguitarhero3 yea well i would like to see it we have better traning now so things would be totaly difrent

  • @dustinscoot not to well the guns of today are bigger callibers more accurate and faster firing then the guns of the past it wouldnt go to well

  • @dustinscoot theres an american soldier in iraq that found a PPSH 41 in a weapons dump. he cleaned it up and slapped and acog on it. he uses it instead of his issued rifle

  • @balongaboy i would so do the same thing.

  • @balongaboy sorry mate but they wouldnt let him do that, seeing as your buddy now has no ammo to fire with his ppsh, soooo tel him to have fun with that.

plus why would anyone switch out an assault rifle for a submaching gun? totally useless.

  • @balongaboy no way...... how did he mount an ACOG on it? and arent pistol rounds arent effective in long ranges/ (rendering the ACOG useless)

  • @R4pidSh0t he used wire to strap it on to the barrel cover. it wasnt an agoc it was actualy a holo sights. he used it for close quarters

  • Comment removed

  • @dustinscoot it's already been done. M21 EBRs are modernised M-14 battle rifles from the 1950s, and modernised copies of the Colt M1911 are carried by some US troops. The PPS-43 was never adopted by the USA so supply would be difficult, and its ammunition would probably be seen as underpowered today - it fires 7.62x25mm pistol rounds which have a fairly short effective range.

  • the PPS wouldn't be adopted by the US because its a Russian weapon remember

  • the PPS wouldn't be adopted by the US because its a Russian weapon remember(I'm not being an asshole about it).

  • @dustinscoot no that would be unfair. lol

  • @dustinscoot

    m14?

  • @dustinscoot The older weapons are already in iraq, being used by the terrorists. Apparently theyre doing well.

  • @meantexanguy which terrorists? that's bullshit...

  • @antimorons1945 Al al Qaeda uses lots of arms from the Russian Armory because theyre cheap and easily obtainable, mosin nagants, ppsh etc. Its not bullshit...look it up.

  • @meantexanguy i ask you once again... which terrorists? those are fairy tales...

  • @antimorons1945 I was deployed in 2008, I know what im talking about.

  • dude i'm about to be deployed too... i know what i'm talking about. you guys are sent to secure areas full of oil... those guys you fight against are heroes... they are trying to defend their religion tradition, and even though i'm against the stuff the muslims do, i know that instead of destroying their countries, the world should develope them... you are told that those guys are teros BULLSHIT!!!! that's propaganda! open your eyes for God's sake. ask your mates, most of them will say as i do.

  • @antimorons1945 Ok I respect your views, just out of curiosity which branch of service are you in?

  • @meantexanguy I'm serving in the Romanian Armed Forces.

  • @antimorons1945 Thats cool, where are you being deployed to?

  • @meantexanguy We've still got troops in Afghanistan, so there. not much action for our army. we send our soldiers and exchange weapons with soldiers of other armies, talk to them, eventually getting trained by them and maybe recon... our army secures the cities... so we'll be overwatching the people of Afghanistan and stuff like that. we've still got like 1000 personell. most of the troops we've sent are vehicle operators.. so not much infantry. However i think i'll be in a recon squad.

  • @dustinscoot Why don't you test it out for them. It's not like you'll have anyone shooting at... oh I guess you will.

  • @dustinscoot Horrible idea...

  • @dustinscoot why eould they do that?

  • @dustinscoot they have brought the m14 back somewhat

  • @dustinscoot the m14 and BAR (browning automatic rifle) has made a come back a little bit... not so much the BAR cuz people dont want it cuz its so heavy =P

  • so did he catch bear grylls yet?

  • hahaha

  • @stealthstrudel I was just wondering did they take that show off the air, cause I haven't seen any new episodes lately.

  • i haven't either. could be gap between seasons, or bear died...

  • @stealthstrudel lol awesome

  • @stealthstrudel never

  • a great gun, extremely rugged like the PPSH-41

PS are you using live rounds here?

  • obiouvsly BETTER than any other ww2 smg

  • yes, most would agree on that

I however like the swedish designed SMG the Carl Gustav M/45, which was designed in 1944 and later used by many special ops forces, including the US Navy seals in Vietnam

The PPS however was proven in action and worked brilliantly in WW2

  • Ei mitenkään erikoinen tulivoima.

  • that's better than ppsh-41

  • funny how all these guns become popular because of video games...

  • What?!?!? You can't prove that. These guns were always popular, especially before video games because these guns are legends and classic to wars like WW2, Vietnam and the Korean war. The reason you see these guns on video games is because they were so popular before.

  • is that Blankfiring ?

  • Soviet troops loved this weapon, it was reliable, the mag didn't jam and it was light weight. They prefered this gun over the MP40 and PPSH.

  • it shot the same as the tokarev tt33 pistol

  • This isn't a fucking PPSh-41 for anyone who thinks so, and the PPSh was better than the PPS, having a higher rate of fire while still having a small recoil. The PPS was nearly as good and even easier to produce, which is why it was used in Leningrad and given to Soviet crewmen.
