The biggest surprise was just how charismatic that lifeless and dull Chris Martin marionette was compared to the real Chris Martin!
I suggest they always use puppets from now on: dead wood and plastic are far more interesting than four English college dropouts, and I even believe that my vomiting to Coldplay's music might even subside somewhat if the visual element is finally taken out of the overall picture...
I recognize this a good song, but who was the dumbfuck who said the songs have 3 notes in common? Perhaps they don't have a single exact note in common. But we are talking about a segment consisting of around 14 notes. The resulting tune reveals: there is no coincidence here.
That does not imply plagiarism, but this is DEFINITELY based on Strange Love's tune.
@Puani I'm sorry, but after listening to Strangelove, it didn't remind me of Life in Technicolor at all. The tune are not even anywhere close to each other. Life in Technicolor uses a major chord, with its first several notes hitting the 1, 3, and 5, whereas Strangelove uses a minor chord and hits the 1, 3, and 4 notes. They don't resemble each other. The notes don't even have the same rhythm.
And don't jump to conclusions about this being based on Strangelove.
i remember walking down the hallway towards inside the stadium (MTY, MEX) And hearing this music in the background, from the 15 years ive lived Coldplay live was the best thing that has ever happened to me.
well, the first time i head this song at a coldplay concert. I thought coldplay was covering "kids" by MGMT. The main riff has similar initial intervals to the riff in "kids."

@ tamtais
Why compare it to MGMT - Kids?....
Try Strangelove by Depeche Mode - it's not merely resembling, it's nearly identical ;)
But pleasant adaptation of Depeche Modes composition none the less.

its just coz both songs share a very similar chord progression and melodies are similar too
