take a look at the beginning of the video and you'll see flares being tossed into the CS and then tossed back by the protesters. My concern is that the tactics used by LEO are slowly escalating into more of a martial-law/military mindset rather than a community-based policing. Like I said on GOTX, we can expect that *anyone* who protests against the government will be facing the kind of response that we saw here - or worse - as time goes on.

I've also been disenfranchised with today's "suedohippies" but what they did was brave, and getting tear gassed and shot with rubber bullets is no joke, its a terrible experience. Unless you have a gas mask it will disperse you, that's why police use them. Those courageous enough to stand up for all Americans and say enough killing should be applauded. Thanks to those involved for getting tear gassed for all of us.

Reading these comments surprises me how many people want to live in a police state. The protest was against the war, but the police act like fascist. The people have a constitutional right to assemble, and they are protecting that right even for the "little nazis" on this site that defend the police officers crimes.

This is just like when the police beat up a girl at reagan national airport. They assaulted this girl and then charged her with a made up crime. They gave her a serious brain injury and her entire body was black and blue. Then they arrested HER and charged her with a crime. You can see she wasn't doing anything that warranted beating her up. What kind of thug would do this?

Protestors did throw barracades and blocked a city street. The video clearly shows them blocking a city street which is a crime. The video doesnt show anyone throwing a barracade, doesnt mean it didnt happen. Also, no one was beat. Stupid fucking worthless hippies.

Either way they broke the law and the police enforced the law in a lawful manner. The description for this video suggest otherwise but the video and the facts surrounding this incident speak for themselves. Protesting is fine until you start to trample on the rights of others to conduct lawful business. Hippies is a word used to describe these types of people not their actual beliefs.
