  • bassists: not just for coffee runs anymore. seriously, this guy must have real dedication and talent to do that... how amazing!

  • This song would be playing in the background if you were to hangout with Little Bear. :)

  • Great music, but do you usually hold the french bow that "far up" the bow?

  • Why would someone dislike such a wonderful and simply amazing thing like this?

  • @Mrfireproofmatches It is actually a Baroque bow, but you won't find it in a regular violin shop, usually. You have to go to more upscale or speciality shops to get the baroque style ones.

  • @hkoncelik I have a bow similar to that....the tip is less curvy than that one...and it's quite interesting to play with a bow like that. Much easier than the french or german bow.

  • @HorrorHound11 french

  • I heard Rinat do the Bottesini Gran Duo a few weeks back, absolutely stunning!

  • at first i thought he wus gonna play mario underwater wen i heard the 1st 3 notes :O

  • Makes it sound easy, which is the highest praise I can give. I remember struggling with this when I was at uni and cursing the difficulty of it.

  • I'm a novice to classical listening and heard this piece on the radio tonight. I was mesmerized by what I imagined to be difficult playing. Sure enough. I imagine also this suite is what gets you into the cellist club, that you're not a real cellist unless you can do this. Wow for Handel and wow for this guys execution of it.

  • Some people just comment as if RInat were another normal guy with great skills at bass. Do you get to the meaning of this piece? Behind technichal difficulties, barroque's articulation is hard to take the best of it. This interpretation (no matter this unique instrument) is superb. I think the same with Rinat's Koussevitzky in YouTube. They keep asking things just as "Ey dude, what's that bass?" That bass is borrowed from LSO, I believe.

  • A remarkable way of holding the bow but you can't argue with such a fantastic sound. brilliant

  • the upper bout of that bass looks carved-very high quality. Is that a baroque bow? I wonder, wouldn't it be more period technique to hold the bow German-style? Anyway, its a beautiful performance.

  • exquisite

  • wow..amazing,,,,what kinda strings does he use?

  • Great Playing! The mic is an Audio Technica (AT4050?) I have that mic. Love it!

  • pretty much flawless

  • Интересно он держит смычок

  • pazzesco, davvero pazzesco...mai sentita tanta musica da uno strumento così poco soistico...

  • @pellemanu

ciao, sono d'accordo con te, anche se non ci conosciamo sento già che c'è complicità tra di noi.

  • I will compose a bass concerto

  • Outstanding! You and Edgar Meyer are my Bach bass heroes however Meyer plays more romantically and that's why I prefer Your version :) Beautiful !!!

  • i actually think that rinat plays more romantically which is why i prefer rinat. edgar does so little rubato that it sounds like a machine.

  • i think that this guy is my new hero

  • @futurebass09 I think the same man!!!!!!!! wow I'll put next to Edgar Meyer... ;) and I love to see pleople breaking rules is inspiring.

  • Fantastic playing. Really musical, historically informed. Bravo!
