  • That thing still holds the record for the fastest ever inline IC engine under a 1000 cc on two wheels on the salt flats. The Indian and Burt Munro. Two legends.

  • @binoyrakesh Amazing that no one has broken that record.

  • indian is amazing, the eternal engine and the most fast in the world

  • cool ,wouldnt wanna drive across the usa or canada on it,breakdowns would be hell,

  • That things probably worth a fortune.

  • Did you get the really extended warranty with that?

  • smooth running engine

  • @fattony252 lol thats because its so old it has lost so much compression it keeps running after its turned off, its as if the engine wont stall straight away just keeps slowy ticking over till it eventually stops hahaha

  • Actually it is called a Pocket Valve or F-head engine, because it had an overhead intake valve and an exhaust valve in the cylinder. This year the intake would have been "atmospheric", or the suction of the intake stroke would draw it open, it had no mechanical operation.

  • awesome

  • wow shes running good too!

  • unbeliveble

  • Can't keep an old motorcycle down!

    Yahoo!

  • That's really oldschool!

  • @Fatsoenlijk thats older than oldschool. Thats like an ancient artifact.

  • They just don't build em like they used to.

  • No, some of them are built better.

In terms of structure, these old bikes had habits of frames flying to pieces and forks bending in two....

  • This is nice

  • Make it do 210MPH and become the next Burt Munro

  • lol xD burt munro's bike was a 1945 indian i believe with a 1000cc engine.

  • No it was a 1920 with an engine that I think was less than 500CC that he bored bigger many times and even made his own cylinders pistons for and everything. And so what if it's not the exact same bike, Burt Munroe wouldn't have copied what othehr people had done just to be exactly like them.

  • dude it was a 1000cc indian

  • No it was originally 600cc as built by Indian then bored out multiple times and in its final form in 1967 was 950cc.

  • Nothing like an original old bike...thanks for sharing

  • No, it's four-stroke side valve. To my knowledge Indian never made a 2 stroke, unless you count those little junky things in the 1970s that used the Indian name.

  • there are some extremely rare 2stroke singles that were made in the 20's or 30's ...

This baby would likely outrun a 11' Hardley ....thanks for posting

  • @Zoomlens They did make a 2 stroke single cylinder machine in 1917 - gutless and not a sales success, it was quickly dropped from the range

  • looks like a 2 stroke engine, is it?

  • speed machine!!!!

  • coompression release shuts it off its amazing how bikes have changed

  • thats amazing

  • definately a motor(with a cycle)!

    cool piece of history!

  • Horsepower Profiles. Com
