  • This stuff promotes root rot! It retains to much water and over time will FALL APART! DO not trust it! The owner of the company is a REAL A-Hole as well.

  • @suretogrow the system is self watering container. If you can research it youtube.

  • @MrYoung817 if the system relies on a wicking media, then STG would probably not be a good choice, as STG is a non wikcing media. Best of luck.

  • @suretogrow do you think the hail product can be used in a self watering container?

  • @MrYoung817 thanks for the email. Hail would probaly be a good option, but i would need more info about your system to give you a definite thumbs up.

  • @4407474

    More than that, my friend.

  • That last minute dude came to life ! Got me excited.

By the way, the saying is: "The proof of the pudding is in the eating".

  • yes but does it Enhance your growing experience that's what i want know lol

  • 45 people just grow weed

  • Can you say algae? put some covers on your pots. Then try to petition the lord with prayer.

  • @coal4life I can see how you would think that, not a big fan of algae either. STG is a non wicking media. in system where the water hits the lower half of the media; NFT, DWC, Aeroponic, STG tends to stay pretty dry on top, as it does not suck the water to the top. We have lots of videos in those systerms showing clean tops.

  • @SureToGrowers can you use a anti algae droper like in a fish tank, not saying there will be algae, just can you use this with plant systems to clear up algae?

  • is there also a system that don't need energie/electicity?

I ask this because if there is a crisis I don't think it will be usefull.

I'm looking for a system to grow veggies indoors in a crisis situation.

If someone know a system or a site who sell it. share the link here

    thanks in advance

  • WAS INTERESTED IN TRYING STG PRODUCT AND PLACED AND PAID FOR MY ORDER (THE SPECIAL FROM THEIR WEB SITE)AND HAVE YET TO RECEIVE MY ORDER.IVE REQUESTED TO EITHER GET MY PRODUCT OR GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK,NEITHER HAS HAPPENED.WORD TO THE WISE IFYOU WANT TO TRY STG DO SO THRU ONE OF THEIR VENDORS

  • @LAZYRU12 Please contact us. There are no open orders in our system. 216-360-8116 my name is Cary. I would be happy to help you.

  • @SureToGrowers

There is a bug in your system! Going on 2 weeks for my paid order as well not to mention a reply to my email. You know esender(at)suretogrow the one paypal has as your customer service email. Which doesn't match the one on your "contact us" webpage by the way. Having to call in defeats the purpose of online orders but it's a good thing you're still checking your youtube page

  • @LAZYRU12 RCVD MY STG PRODUCT TODAY IN GOOD ORDER THANK YOU

  • @LAZYRU12 RCVD MY STG PRODUCT TODAY IN GOOD ORDER THANK YOU

  • @LAZYRU12 none of my local vendors have STG on stock "special order only" not to mention it's WAY to expensive (hence the hail sale). they compare it hydroton which i think is "apples to oranges." i wanted to compare it to ROCKWOOL! it's real rival in class, performance and price , (count how many times you spot a rockwool cube inside their inserts in other STG videos LOL :P

  • @LAZYRU12 please call the office Monday or email from our website, so we can check into this and let you know if we have the order and confimr it has been sent. Youtube is not the best way to communicate with us.

  • @SureToGrowers apparently it's the only way to get through to you.

  • thats the stuff they use in Oil Absorbent pom poms cheep as f***

  • enhance ur growing experience..lol..no seriously, enhance ur growing experience. Did i mention u can Enhance ur growing experience? dude wants us to buy his pieces of white reticulated foam (acts like they invented it)..lmao.cause it will"enhance our growing experience" lol

  • I'm a new hydro grower and this has made the process as a newbie so much easier. I wnt us anything else

  • @MbTurner1977 Thank you for the nice comments. It means a lot to us.

  • Go to the hardware store and get some industrial slabs of rockwool, and cut them yourself, either into cruton sized bits og round shapes to fit into your nets pots. Its much cheaper and it doesn't really take that long.. I usually use 30-40 minutes cutting material for over 50 platns.. No biggie.. I have been doing this for years.. I tried clay pellets one time, they are not great in aeroflo 2.

  • @peterhh14 a lot of people want to avoid handling, let alone cutting up rockwool. You do realize rockwool is primarily used for insulation. they do not recommend cutting it up and breathing in the dust. Why not try Hail and then comment if you think your method is better.

  • @SureToGrowers I have worked with rockwool for years in my profesional life, it's true, If your are working in an enclosed area you will definately need a dust mask when working with rockwool. BUT for the small amount you need for at hydroponic system, it will never become an isue. Take the work outdoors, or simply get a dust mask (very cheap at the local hardware store)

I can definately see the advantages of hail, and I would like to try it, can you ship to europe? (Denmark to be specific?)

  • @peterhh14 STG was developed for growers ;like you. No grower should have to spend time messing with media MAKING it work for your system. We communicate with each other using the latest technology, but the majority of growers still use media that was developed before they were born. Makes us nuts how difficult it is to bring growers around to a much easier option. it makes our day when seasoned growers like you are willing to take a serious look at our media.

  • @peterhh14 We have so many growers around the world who ask to buy STG. We actually decided today its time we make that happen. Please keep your eye out for an announcement about that. If you are not a subscriber to our youtube vidoes please become one, it will make it easier to get info from us for some exciting news. I really look forward to hearing back from you about your experience with STG.

    Cary.

  • sure to grow is good and has helped me out lots

sure to grow is white and light goes right through it so yep u guessed it

    sure to grow algie lol

  • I'm starting seeds right now in the loose fill,

My question is can I use Sure To Grow in five gallon top feed drip emitter systems such as the waterfarm 8 pack sold by hydrofarm??

If so I'm running out to buy some hail cubes ASAP!

  • @iamhated00 Should do great. I just got some great pictures from a grower using the Hail with the GH WF with the halo rings, he loves it and has gone through several cycles. Have heard good things from others as well. Let us know how it goes and if you have any questions.

  • SMOKE SOME VEGETATION BIAAATCH

  • @oshienmikey7 ... i might just try that... its sterile, why not? i bet thats what this guy did...

  • What type of pump should I use for a 12 plant using an ebb and flow system? Thanks

  • If you say "Enhance your growing experience..." one more time man....

  • @MsVeekey lol ..

  • @MsVeekey

it's like those penis enlargement pills.... "enhance your sex life, enhance your stamina, enhance the bullshit !

  • C'mon Matt. the bottom line is you want money, it's not about knowing I am having a great time using your product. You just want to make money.

And there is not a thing wrong with that. Excuse me if I was rude or jumped the gun. If I were you I would be happy knowing I am making life easier for the common gardner. Cheers to you guys!

I shall be trying our your product line as soon as I can afford to. To be honest...I think it is one of the best mediums I have seen in long time.

  • Awesome videos keep e'm coming!!

  • Do you sell round cut products that will fit 4 or 6 inch netpots? You say that it is non-wicking how would this product perform in an NFT system? Does it hold enough water to allow for using an NFT constant flow system as an ebb and flow?

  • @nilknarf420 thank you for the questions. Yes, we do make Storm inserts in those sizes, check out of Tempest, Tornado and Twister one of those will fit your net pots. Hail mini cubes would work great as well, for a one size fits all product. As long as you have good roots coming through the bottom of the inserts NFT will work very well, although pretty unusual way to grow bigger plants. NFT is primarily used for lettuce and other short term crops grown in small grow cubes. Hope this helps.

  • Can this compete with mapito?

  • @xxCrazySmooth

Thanks for the email. Compete how? cost or performance. Cost not sure, mapito is not sold here in the US. In terms of performance, growers who use STG are always switching from their current media and don't switch back. You will need to try it for yourself to answer your question.

  • STG products are available in the Uk at puregrow.co.uk

  • @puregrow1 Ray, good idea. you may want to post for for other EU countries if you are comfortable.

  • @puregrow1 Hi dude,i sell several of the STG products in the UK. Get in touch any time.

  • man this stuff rock,,,love the products use it in a dwc undercurrent system nothin can compete

  • @anthonymill74 A-man thank you so much for the great comments, it means a lot to get this feedback. I sent it off to my buddies at Current Culture, so they could enjoy as well. Do me a favor post your comments on every forum out there. You would not believe how many people don't get our technology and won't even try it. They need to hear from the BELIEVERS. Please stay in touch with us and let us know how the grow continues. Thanks loads my friend. Good Growing..

  • dude, i wanna grow with your products, i live in southern cali and have the full right to grow with my license, but i have yet to try it as im worried i'll mess it up, but with your vids im feeling pretty confident...hopefully i can get started in the next couple of months...

  • I have placed my order for some of these products. I am totally new to hydroponics but with these line of videos they make it look so easy. Plus since it's only about 20 to 30 bucks it's not a real huge investment in case it does not work out for me. Also since I live in Ohio why not support Ohio. GO BUCKS!!!

  • @QupidsWorld Love the GO BUCKS, we are big fans. Now just focused on keeping the King LBJ. Greatly appreciate you giving STG a try. Please stay in touch and let us know how you like it and how the grow goes. Make sure to let us know if you have any questions, we are here to help.

  • @oshienmikey7 yes, the system shown in the video is a General Hydroponics aero system. STG works well in these systems because the water and nutrients easily penetrate the fibers where they meet up with the roots. STG is non-wicking so the nutrients stay at the optimum levels and don't wick to the top; clean, dry and algea free tops.

  • Does STG need a monthly flush?

  • Do the ebb & flow bucket inserts fit the Green Trees Multi Flow system?

  • @BetterDoYourHomeWork Yes they do, but I would STRONGLY recommend using the Hail cubes for this application, as you will have better drainage, with added performance.

    Z

  • it looks pretty frail... no support?

  • @newaar You will have to trellis or stake crops expected to grow 3+ feet at finish. Staking early helps prevent any leaning before expected.

    Z

  • CAN YOU RE-USE IT, CAN YOU RE-USE IT??????????????????thats a big question? thats gonna decide if this is goin to b the next popular thing..... cant b buyin 1 everytime hell no.....

  • @chevyridin86 Medium should not be reused, as there is no way to guarantee you have sterilized, and gotten rid of every last bit of pathogens from the previous crop.

    Z

  • hi, is your product safe to use in an aquaponics style application .. will it harm fish ?

  • @smoothoperatork1 It's perfectly safe to use for humans and fish. The product is inert, which means it will not leach anything into your water.

    Z

  • where can i buy sure to grow, plewse answer

  • 5 stars too. Really great vieo and would buy from you guys for sure if was in states.

  • The entire line of inserts is called the Storm series. Our newest line is called Hail, may be our best technolgoy yet. Thanks for the comments.

  • Hey guys, really like the product. What's it called though? You guys need to give it a name!

  • in aeroponic system my basil root have gone from lighter colour to very brown slimy colour. WHat could of caused this as my container blocks out most light? could using a lower ec level cause this. can to low water temp cause problems. my water temp is between 60 & 65f. perhaps do a demonstration of sure2grow showing some nice large basil plants. Would you be happy eating hydro grown basil as long as it had been flushed

  • It's either from the high oxygen levels, or the nutrients you are using. Are you running any humic or organic additives? You should try to keep your nutrient temps slightly above 65 if possible, but would not blame it for root discoloration. If they are more slimy brown, I would strongly suggest you change out your reservoir, as root rot might be setting in.

  • I like this idea...but what is the media,s surface area per inch sq? also do we have a price for 11inch pots?

  • what happens when you are done with the medium? is it biodegradable? what is the next step?

  • You can recycle any unused or root filled portions, it can be incinerated, or thrown into the garbage.

  • can it be re-used?

also do you have any canadian suppliers? I went to your website's "vendors" and saw none.

  • Mike,

As with all media, reuse is generally a frowned upon practice unless you have the means to completely sterilize the substrate. When blooming plants finish strong they are under a tremendous amount of stress and as a result are susceptible to a myriad of nasty pathogens.

  • Since the late stage blooming plant is mature it may be able to keep these pathogens at bay even in its weakened state however young seedlings with juvenile root systems may not be able to combat these pathogens if the same media is reused. I encourage people to recycle instead of reuse. This keeps the carbon impact at a minimum, provides raw material to other industries or processes and give the grower piece of mind knowing their new crop will not be cross contaminated.

  • cheers.

I just thought I'd ask as it seems your medium is a cutting edge material. I just wanted to see if it doesn't anything else other medium don't. so far I am very impressed.

  • @SureToGrowers wow i need to try this product . i got the cuttings in a soil cup medium, can i tranfer it into this medium.

  • Can you transplant soil, or rockwool cubes into the 6" Twister storm series inserts?

  • You can transplant rockwool cubes into any of our inserts, but watch for algae growth on the tops, rockwool will wick nutrients up to the upper surface of the STG, causing an increased chance of algae unless you keep it covered. To transplant a plant out of soil, you'll want to rinse as much soil from the root ball as possible in order to keep from bringing nasty pathogens and sediment, to keep as much of a sterile environment as possible. You'll have to fill the cutout will loosefill or hail.

  • i built an aerospring but decided not to use those clear tubes as an resovoir level indicator as i thought about light hitting the water in the tube an inducing algae. ALgae seems to be the biggest problem in water culture and no matter how hard you try the tubing inside the res seems to get that brown slimy stuff on it even if you can see it you can wipe it off on a tissue but if tis only on the tubes its ok. plants can handle a bit of alage and you will never elimnate it entirely.

  • Your product looks amazing. Where can i order some of this at ?

  • The new Hail cubes should be on the market in about 30 days. Disocount Hydroponics will get them on line the fatstest, local retailers will take a bit longer. You will definetely want to try this media, so check back in 30 days for an update.

  • Thanks a lot man, i will be sure to order some. They look very promising !

  • do you need rockwool still ? or just the new inserts

  • 14CPO

ya see this is how it goes,we you water the plants is ur huge 18 acre feild most of the water (probly about 60% of it) just evaporates into the air,u just wasted money on water that wont even get to ur plants,in hydroponics you plant uses most or all of the water u give it,second you save a lot of space by doing this you dont have to spend money on the machines for gas or maintenance witch could be exspensive with the rise in prices. You can easily ofset the cost of the project aswell

  • I am confused are you now stating hydroponics are more efficient or are you saying that the moisture that evaporates is reintroduced into the hydrologic cycle and therefore somehow "banked" for later use. If this is your premise, it is faulty. Weather patterns are highly erratic as indicated by droughts and floods. The probability of the water that has evaporated from your field falling back to earth in the same geographic footprint is nil.

  • Wolf,

Thanks for the backup, sometimes a collaborative opinion helps to clarify the point

    Matt@STG

  • lol I'm learning so much, thx for the knowledge seriously

  • hydroponics is not as water efficient as its made out to be vs soil. big thirsty lpants will drink over 10 litres per day and soil plants dont need feeding as often as hydro. I'm interesting in true aeroponics which will eventually come down in price. Could somebody do some videos showing true high pressure aeroponics in detail. true aeroponic the mist is so dry it is more like smoke. surely a high pressure water pump can create a better mis than those 360 sprinklers.

  • Hydroponics is not nearly as water efficient as soil? When did this happens? i am a college professor with degrees in biology, chemistry and graduate degrees in environmental geology/hydrology and i assure you your previous statement is patently FALSE. Water recirculating in a system that is appropriately dosed with beneficial bacteria, enzyme and nutrients can be run for 48 days+ without stress to the plants or dimished performance. The average soil bound plant during vegetative growth.

  • conservatively uses 6-8 gallon a week. My hydroponics plants use a third of that at most. If i were to work this equation out we would find that a soil crop of 10 plants on a 12 week cycle would consume an average of 840 gallons while my hydro system will use 215 over the same period of time.

  • You're not listening. Big thirsty plants consume 10+ litres plus of water per day and that is just small number of plants. rain which falls into soil is more efficient than hydroponic systems which draw water from the tap. hydro cannot draw as much water as naturally grown soil plants in full area coverage to rain water. No hydro system will beat an organic large field in full exposure to heavy rain. You cannot improve on where you source you're water from.

  • I am listening plenty, I am a hydrologist and you are going to tell me that open field irrigation is more efficient than hydro. Riddle me this, soil tension can preclude the plants from uptaking up to 20% of the total direct input without ever discussing channelized flow, subsurface flow dynamics, differential substrate permeabilty etc. Pick up a book instead of buying into some crack pot pseudo science. If i am wrong prove it to me.

  • Is this the foam medium that was shown on dragons den canada? The inventor uses foam pellets or some stuff which he demonstrated was alot better then the conventional stuff. I really think its a good idea. But is it reusable?

  • So.. its reuseable right?

  • unsure mate.. clay pebbles work very well and offer excellent drainage and aireation.. if it's not broke, dont fix it..! i'll stick with the pebbles for now

  • But how do you treat Salmonella breeding in this environment.......'cos this is one of the disadcantages of a high moisture environment with sufficient nutrient for them to grow.......It is troublesome for people unable to know when they were here in the plant you grow...

  • I understand your food security concerns however Salmonella does not come from a sterile, pH neutral and inert media. It can come from a variety of sources such as: contaminated ground water, contaminated organic nutrients, fecal material on a growers hands etc. but it does not come from a inorganic manufactured substrate.

  • i have a question? instead of using a clone, can you put a seed in the sure to grow mesh and will it grow? like say i germinate a seed, then I simply put it in the sure to grow mesh. . .sure i would add a Dip N Grow liquid rooting Concentrate to the mesh but if I did it that way, could it grow? or do I have to grow it in till it has roots then place the plant in the sure to grow product?thanks in advance

    ~mica

  • an extractor fan in you're resovoir can help eliminate excesive moisture & humidity. its not a bad idea to put a waterproof fan in you're resovoir to prevent that swampy smell occuring an eliminate condensation. The way forward however is to use no growing media at all. the problem i am finding with hydroponics is it is using more nutrients than i use in soil and more water. True aeroponics is the way to go it only uses a few ml per day. aeroponic is the way fordward not hydro

  • Product looks good, can't wait to throw away all this hydroton.

  • thanks for the shout out, let us know when you get the Storm going and post a video. Love to stay in touch.

  • I've seen your ad in several gardening magazine and I've been wanting to try it out. I live in Ohio where can I buy this seemingly amazing product!

  • What bucket inserts do you have? The recirculating ebb and flow with STG has insane potential!
