  • I remember a Kirby sales man giving us a demo of this vacuum when I was a little kid around 1985 and I never forgot it. I think they quoted us around $800 which was a lot of money back then. My parents didn't buy it because they are too cheap (and we were poor back then), but I was really impressed with it. I have a Kirby Diamond addition now that I got on Ebay for $200 with all the attachments. I love it.

  • I'm restoring a freebie heritage II that was left in storage after years of 'abuse' in a sporting goods store. Although the Tradition was the first to feature paper bags, it seams the 2HD had the shakeout bag as an option such as the Heritage II that I inherited. I just polished her to a like new shine. I have a power cord, a mini emptor, cloth bag, and brush roll on order. Next step for the sucker is eBay.

  • Does this model have power assist?

  • i am getting on in a week

  • i have to agree with defrankond about the huge bags they used to use, don't really like the small ones of today

  • It is a nice vacuum from 1985.

  • that's a very nice heritage man, those things will last forever!! my g4 is going strong 16 years now. hope to be putting a video of it up soon.

  • is it got squeeky wheels or does your granny have budgies or similar

  • i love that vac! i have a legend 2

  • you mabye need a g diamond

  • Does your granny still use this vacuum to this day??

  • Yeah. It still run nice and smooth. It been serviced twice. The first was when the origninal fan broke while we was vacuuming with the hose we heard a loud pop like a quarter was picked up and the motor slowed down and started humming and had no suction I knew what it was because the same thing happened with my Hoover Convertible it was loud. The second time the Mini Em-Tor cracked.

  • ouch... that sucks!!! mine went throught like 20 belts in 3 years becuase idk how to use it at first, so i'm suprized that it still works. i need the owner's manual and the shampooer kit for mine...

  • i love the old kirby bags the way they balloon out. the new ones arnt as big. that was a classic thing for kirby i wish my g5 had the big huge bag.

  • that happened to my legend 2 when i was using the hose i sucked up a screw

  • Wow! The same thing happened to me! :) But we were cleaning out the Car and I was Real Little so I didnt know any better.

  • This is a good vaccum... i have one myself for my house and it works excellent (25 years old)! I still prefer my electrolux (it's 30 yrs old... works like brand new). If you take good care of Kirbys they will run foreverb

  • To hell with Hoovers It beats as it sweeps as it cleans, Sir Kirby's are far superior in their deep down cleaning.

  • Thats one creepy vaccum

  • It's not that creepy...
