They received their name years ago. Because, of the fact when they come out in the arenas men and women were always amazed at their uniforms, looks, performances and movement that they would always go "Woo Woo Woo Woo". So, they adapted the name Woo-Woo's and have been called that every since.
Good. I hesitated asking so I looked it up in the urban dictionary and this is what came up. 1. woo woos The sudden and instantaneous urge to make bowel movements (take a crap, squeeze one out, etc.) Normally caused by the ingestion of coffee.
Just called my cousin in Cali... they haven't heard of them either... Doesn't mean they are not good, just not world RENOWNED. They only thing they knew about VSU is there band participated in the Honda Battle of the Bands. They went to Prairie View, traveled extensively across the country, still never heard of a Woo Woo.. Can they get a website or something? Then maybe they can have more access to the people who don't know who they are
Its not necessary to go through all of this. VSU Woo-Woos will always have a strong fan base and admirers. Obviously, your friend that is in IRAQ didn't go to college. Because, I can assure you that if he/she did he/she has heard of the woo-woos. It has nothing to do with the state of NC. Again, you can say what you want? The VSU Woo-Woo's are loved all over HBCU's and well resprected. Attend the CIAA this year in Charlotte, NC and take a look for yourself. They are NO JOKE!!!!

I'm sorry, but to this goj617gemini person. You have to realize the Woo Woos, yes they are very good cheerleaders, but they are not the greatest! They were not the first to do many things, wear certain uniforms, do certain cheers etc. So commenting on every other squads videos telling us all we could benefit from the Woo Woos camp is rude & disrespectful. Every squad cheers different.

If every squad cheered just alike, it would be boring. We have our own styles for a reason. The Rah Rahs are definitely not as bad as people make them out to be, I tried out for a reason. I cheered in the now gone HBCU Nationals. Placed second.Stood across from teams as differnt as SCSU,WSSU, Wingate, Gardner Webb, and FSU. With my team we won the Spirt award,Best Spirit routine, and won a bid to NCA nationals(yes in Daytona). The only Hbcu besides Grambling at NCAcamp.
Made freinds with squads like the Citidel,
G.tech, and louisville. Perfected the 2-2-1 with an eagle forward dismount, starmount, and split mount. Who did i cheer for Johnson C. Smith University. :)
Why do the need to buy (1) uniform. Dr. Johnson loves the fact that the girls are different from most squads. They look GREAT in whatever they put on. And to be very honest with you allot of the schools in the CIAA as well as some in other divisions (MEAC, SWAC and SIAC) often try to duplicate their styles.
