to me, dorian gray looks like jude law or leo dicaprio... of course, when they were young..just sayin..

I started reading the book, I am at page 80. I have to be honest I find it kinda boring, I know something is going to happen but it never does. So I decided to watch the trailer, but not the whole movie, I'll save it after I read the book. It is like every trailer, it is interesting but too good for the movie

Those of you who watched this movie without reading the actual book, stop saying it sucks. If you read the actual book first then watch this, you would be able to understand it. Also there is another version of the book where it contains the parts left out by Oscar Wilde due to the law England had back then about Homosexuality.

The plot differs in some minor and major issues from the book, e.g. the whole Sybil and James Vane story and ... okay, I have to admit.. 50 % of the movie is altered. Well, have your own look, it's not so bad. There are some really good scenes.

It was difficult for me to take this movie seriously; some parts were eloquent and "artistic," while others were laughable [maggots; growling painting--all distracts from the point of it just "aging" hideously]. Although I never expect modern adaptations to sync with novels, the film neglected a few key components that could've enhanced its lackluster in execution. That aside, it was Ben Barnes who stood out. The story didn't, but his acting, compared to what we all know him for, was superb.

@bombhandleLOL henry was kind of always evil and acted like a little devil on dorians shoulder whereas basil was the angel. was close to the novel but it was a tad off

@ajb2829 that is true. I would have liked Henry to have been more effected from his negative influence in the end. The half burnt face and having an angry daughter consequence wasn't enough for me. I would have also liked it to go inside Dorian and Henry's heads more, show more time for Dorian's main two love interests, and show what went on when he left the city. Reguardless I found something enchanting about the movie. It felt like the quickest 2 hour movie.
