The fast licks do you and tipton/kk use alternate picking? Or where do you get the speed from?

thanks. if you were more specific it would be easier to answer but I think I know which sections you are referring to. I would say it's a mix of alternate picking and hammer-ons. Also in fast sections in some songs Tipton uses a technique where he basically slides along the fretboard and the same time alternate picks which in the end basically sounds like a smooth chromatic scale run.

For speed in general I don't have any better tips than practicing. Check out e.g. Petrucci's Rock Discipline

@Misrilou There's a lot video editing softs that can do that. Sony Vegas, Pinnacle but also cheaper editors. Just look around a bit. I think there should be editing softs capable of doing that in the 30-50$ range.

I think i got an approximate version of the solo from 911 tabs or ultimateguitar but I had to rearrange it a little, especially the splitting between kk and glenn. But it was quite some time ago so I can' exactly remember. I think it was a guitar pro 4 tab.
