The first time I saw 'La Prisonniere' was on YouTube with Lucia Lacarra and Cyril Pierre and it was the most wonderful thing I'd ever seen. Unfortunately, somehow I lost it and, until now I've never seen it on YouTube again. I was given 'Proust, or Intermittences de Coeur' for Christmas and lo and behold it's on there. Petit is the choreographer and, I agree with you, it's absolutely ravishing.

Khalfouni was AMAZING. I never saw her Giselle LIVE but have seen very little of it on video. Her mad scene was one of the BEST, one of the BEST French actress/ballerinas, alongside Monique Loudieres!
She' s amazing as ever. Mysterious artist. I think one should mention her partner Denys Ganio too. This a Roland Petit piece, the "pas de deux de la Prisonnière".
Yes. This is just the most impossibly transcendent performance. Every time I watch her do this, it is as though I have seen it again for the first time. It is so wordlessly magical, even coming through a film.
Much as I love this version, nothing will ever compare, in my opinion, to the Lacarra/Pierre version. That was really sublime.
