I just had a video denie despite giving all information and links to the song and to the Creative Commons license. My biggest problem now is there is NO information anywhere on how to dispute this. In the email where they said click on the above link to dispute - it wasn't a link! They colored it blue and underlined it, but it wasn't a link! There were other true links in the email, but to dispute, they just made it look like a link and thought people wouldn't notice that??? Help anyone?
@Hulio7271 I had a similar issue with two of my recent vids that had music in them. They kept asking for more information and they never replied to any of my replies anyway. Trying to get support from YouTube is futile. I ended up removing them. I owned all the content in the vids, cept the music, which was properly attributed exactly how we are instructed to do so, and how I always have been doing it. Now, I am not going to bother using audio in my vids.
I have a question: What if I record my own arrangement of a song in the public domain? Can I enable revenue sharing on that upload (assuming I include no other copyrighted content like images)?
But MOST of the composers allow to use their music Royalty Free for Youtube projects AND charge money if music is used for Commercial Projects. This includes Kevin MacLeod too. And I got a claim from the third party on a video where I used Kevin MacLeod music and immediately removed the video!
So what music can be used as a background music without any penalties is still very unclear unless of course you create your own music!
@DigitalMosaics Obviously, commercial usage generates the need to pay who's helping you getting money, in this case, the artist of the music you used. It's common sense, really.
I always submit the exact information requested in this tutorial. It's even from Kevin Macleod. But the response from YouTube is always inconsistent and form letters. I have often simply resubmitted the exact same info, several times, only to finally have it be approved. I get the sense that no one is really looking carefully at the information that is initially submitted, and that it's just arbitrarily turned down the first time, like an insurance claim. I'm having this problem again currently.
Ha, that's perfect - I was actually worried about using that specific website because he has his music registered with the Content ID program now, but this will obviously help clear up any issues.
The artist here has a good voice for recording. Next time I suggest use a stand-alone microphone (not a headset), and perhaps a "spit screen" to make is quieter.
I don't understand the redundant check box to enable ads. We all ready clicked "enable rev sharing" to get to that page. It's too easy to miss that check box and have to start all over again.
Youtube, your "post-Google buyout" copyright strategy is one giant, multi-year facepalm. Your copyright lawyers aren't giving you good legal advice. They have a dog in the fight. Their livelihood depends on the level to which you believe their bullshit.
Just one small thing: unless something has changed, if you fill out the extra, optional form, the video WILL be unavailable in Germany, automatically. My guess is this is due to YouTube's ongoing dispute with GEMA, but, unless I have badly misunderstood something, this only affects music on which royalties are payable. I therefore strongly recommend NOT filling out the optional form for royalty-free music.
I cannot find any links to find this "Revenue Sharing page" anywhere on my youtube. The links in my email do not work.

I give them the same spiel for every video I submit, as songs I use don't change and they randomly deny my latest one...

Can you please make the box bigger YouTube? We usually use at least 5 different tracks, so all the information never fits into the box.

What about old music, from people who died over 4 decades ago, is that free to use?

Thank you for being so specific about what Youtube wants for these licenses. Its what we have needed for some time.
