People need to stop thinking that their size is the most important thing, lol. There's a few 250cc bikes besides this one, but it is a great starter bike. If you're new to bikes then yes, ride it. You may feel tall if you're 6ft or so, but at least you wont kill yourself trying to learn how to ride it. If you really want the full size effect of a bike but maintain the 250cc to learn on, look up a Hyosung GT250R.

@HondaUnique believe me, ive had my 09 Ninja 250 since last November an when i got a chance to ride it in January, I instantly fell in love with it. Im 5' 7" and i fit it purfectly, it only matters if your feet could lay flat on the ground and if its easy to rocck the bike left and right
plus, the 250 is one of the easiest bikes to modify so you can create your own weight reductions like i did. I took off passenger pegs, fender, rear seat, etc. Have fun with it!

The only reason I did the 250 was because I thought I was too inexperienced for a larger, heavier bike. It's fun as hell though and you can hit the highway (mostly) comfortably. I have sold it since and am planning on getting a triumph thruxton for my next bike.

@Ajedh Im sure you can fit, but you might want to go sit on one at the dealer. if youre too big, the 500 is also a good starter bike and its a bit bigger.
yea buying it new for under 5 k but you can still get a nice few years older fuel injected 600cc for cheaper and would not out grow it and you would have a real bike not a dirt bike with cool looking plastics
ok i ride a ducati and my wife rides a 250r, of course it doesn't perform as well as the duc but it wasn't made to. but it is a great bike so don't belittle it. for what it is, it is about the best, lol and i don't even really like kawasakis
@DJWildy are you smoking crack, a ninja 250 stock will not go near 130 or 120 mph, even with someone with badass shifting skills, your going to end up doing 110 or lower for a top speed on a flat road, ninja 250 isnt a fast bike, its the slowest bike ive ever ridden besides mopeds, 250 and 125 dirt bikes even out accelerate the ninja 250 by ALOT

Great bike. I had a Ninja 600 ZXR and sold it after 4 years. My next bike will be the 250R. Performance aside the 250R is much more fun...for me anyway.

I don't get it, people go so crazy about this bike and when they get it they sell it 2 000 miles later...ride the damn bike, learn it, love it, break it. Still happily enjoying my 03 250 now ~ 7 000 miles later that I picked up earlier this year. It's a nice bike and I can pick an 08 up for ~$2 500 I would be happy to side-grade, if not then I'll be getting a SV650 Standard.

i'm 5'3" and it works just fine, all you have to do is get a lowering kit if you're afraid of it being to tall. that's what i did.
