its not that hard. i had a good coach that knew polevault i jump about 8' in 7th grade wehn i got to highschool i had a coach that only learn from videos so....he like changed everything i keept messing up after that soo..lol it got harder D:
i came out half way through my track season last year as my first year of vaulting and i got 10'. its really not that hard. just need a good coach or someone that knows what they are doing to show you. my coach was an all american. ha
its definitely something worth trying, you just have to stick with it. even if you don't turn out to be a 10footer, its still fun even if u only get to like 7
UGGGGG i figured out what i was doing wrong but i still wont be able to compete in my meet cuz i have to clear 9'6 and iv only goten to practice twice
Learning to vault is actually easy after your first few vaults it gets to be like your second insctinct at first you worry but soon you just forget and it just becomes second nature. So don't worry you will get the hang of it I'm no time I swear

yeah i did long distance :( the highest i could go was 7 feet a good height is 9 i'll try again next year I'll be prepared then i know what to work on
i learned to pole vault today in practice and i cleared 8 feet. this week im gonna compete in my county JV meet and hopefully varsity if i qualify. (its 9 feet to qualify)
My highest jump is 8'6" and i've been doing it for one season of track and field... my season is still not over. but i have a video of me pole vualting if u want to see it, it's at (watch?v=q3xvV1YTxk0) Just copy that after youtube(dot)com lol i cant give a url...
I have had 6-7 practice days for pole vaulting and my first meet is tomorrow and the highest I have cleared is 7' 6". Using the 135 pole. Nervous and anxious lol.
people need to upload more clips like this. I prefer funnier stuff myself, check out dolphinhump. lostfrog . com , I laughed so hard I got kicked out of class! haha.
yea but he said he cleared 6 ft on his first jump... thats pretty fucking incredible... which is unreasonable... but enev if you did clear six feet it will still take like 5 years before your good regardless... haha
lol i remember when i vaulted first time... and if you cleared 6 your first time then you have a natural ability to make it to the olympics in one year because its almost impossible to do that... on your first jump... its been so long since i struggled like that its funny to look at someone else go through it hahaha
so you're saying you made it to the olympics in one year? or just that clearing six feet first vault means you're destined for big time? haha. first of all, six feet is nothing unless you're like twelve, second of all, polevaulting takes time. doesn't matter who you are.
This may seem difficult to understand, but I did it for more that 2 minutes and 46 seconds. I was actually there for a whole morning, but the piece was edited down to just under 3 minutes.
Come on, learned pole vaulting in 2 weeks and my second meet I cleared 9' 6" and I am 14 and 5' 8" tall. :D
