@quicktooth1 its not a single segment, he didnt made the whole run in one part, he did multiple short parts and added them together. Thats how the 30 min speed run of the first half life has been done. Looks more realistic now?

Didn't know about the segments- thanks for the info. Which do you think is better to see on speedruns- single segment or multiple?

@quicktooth1 well the only speedruns i have seen are this one on half life 2, and both the single segment and the "normal" speedrun of half life 1 (both made by the same guy). THe "normal" (multiple segment) was really impressive to watch, but its intersting to see in the single segment how he manaes to keep going even if he fails some attempts, he needs to go take some health etc, and act like a normal guy, something you don't see here xD

but i think by separately going in, it will ignore the trigger.

The reason he makes the boat go backwards, I have no idea.

@mrfinkers100 1:20 he fired 3 shots. It only takes 2 shots to ignite a barrel on fire. 3:00 was a thin trigger (looked at it myself in the editor) and have done it myself on the Xbox version. Your able to virtually glitch through triggers without touching it. Try it yourself. It works.

Valve fixed those glitches so that they can't be done anymore. Doesn't mean it was possible once upon a time. I've certainly tried. :)

This speedrun was made on the original half-life 2 engine. If you have the steam version of the game, It is no longer possible to object surf in the way that they demonstrate here, because the game engine was updated to the episode 2 version.
