I was looking at one of those at my local hobby shop and it was pretty nice and expensive.

@The302bossmustang I would disagree with the cost part, I mean yeah they aren't cheap but MTH engines are much more affordable than Lionel and much more reliable as well.

@PghTrainFanatic Yeah they are cheaper and better than Lionel, Im gonna be putting a video of my Lionel PRR S2 and my MTH Railking PRR S2 running around my layout and you definitely see the difference the MTH smokes the Lionel in speed and power.

@TommyZTrains Well I've found that you have to lower the engine sound in the menu to about 70 or 80%, then you can hear the cab chatter much better. Otherwise it just sounds like garble under the diesel sounds. Thanks Tommy!

Whats the hill called that you have with the train on it? How's operating blackout going?

@MrMixNix The mountain is called Mt. Washington. Its modeled after a real hillside in Pittsburgh where there are still a couple operating inclines. That's the track you see going up the side of the hill.....still need to make it functional. Op. Blackout is on hold until I finish my main room. Thanks for the comments!

@MTHTrainFanatic Thanks a lot man! Yeah that's one bad thing....the back unit doesn't have a proto coupler but I'm not doing a lot of switching with this engine. I did pulled a couple trains in reverse with it which worked out just perfect. But for the price you can't go wrong with an MTH dummy.

That is one awesome engine! I had to go look it up cause I swear I thought that was a U25B. But I looked and the PLE and NW U28's where styled like the U25's, while the rest were like U30B's. Any way they look and sound awesome! So when our we gonna see a running video with rolling stock? ;)

@railfanfromiantha Yeah man I know, I got a little confused too when I first saw them. I kept thinking they were U25B's too! Then I realized it that they were U28B's LOL! These P&LE units are sick man, I love them! You'll be seeing a lot of these engines Ethan, because I think they go great with my layout!

I have finsihed a lot of work on the layout in the past year and a half, but there's a little left undone still! Lol and to think I already want to Make a new layout soon! :D Next one will have O72's for sure, and some more realistic looking track. Hopefully bigger too! I know crazy isn't it! like its not big enough already! LMAO!

However, I hear ya on the O72 curves, that is your existing layouts only short coming in my opinion. Nick, I have a question.  I recieved my Crane and Boom cars last night and after programming both with the same engine #, the crane works perfectly but the boom car has no sound other than a slight hissing noise. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks! Bill

@JDStucks OMG Yeah Jason, I have so many options now! There were always some engines I had eyed up for a while with some local road names and these I saw and was immediately in love! Quickly becoming one of my fav's for sure! There is probably at least 4-5 other local railroads that MTH makes for this area. I hope to have those in the future as well. Nice engines Nick! I really like how these engines fit your railroad perfectly! They sound and look awesome! Gotta love the Proto 2 sounds. Always clear and crisp. Love the horn and the bell is really crisp too! Love the Freight Sounds also! Gotta also love the speed control. MTH's motors are really really good at pulling long trains and moving on slow speeds! This review is awesome! Thanks for sharing! Don't you love the cheap price of MTH engines Nick? You can get so many!

@PghTrainFanatic They fit perfectly Nick! I like the way you review the trains no talking just some captions and running time. Don't do it for all your engines just the ones you are going to receive. You have already done the others so why waste your time?

You will have an arsenal of MTH trains once your done because they are cheap but still well made! That is funny about the Lionel engines. Lionel really needs to expand their horizon because frankly MTH has more markets covered.
