Completely agree on all of this. Also... a mode to build your own character, possibly based on the Miis and allowing them to borrow the build and moves of other characters, would be totally awesome.
@MegamanvolnutX Well These two videos have so many views because I responded to cjszero01's video which in turn brought me a lot of traffic as he's pretty well known in the gaming community or at least gets a lot of views. However views don't bother me that much I'd rather a few people watch my videos and enjoy them then get tons of views and no one cares. Characters who should be in the next SSB game: -Dixie kong -K.Rool -Ridley -Megaman -Jeff -Gooey -The "NPC" characters (Master hand, Sandbag, Crazy hand, Sandbag, Fighting whatever team, Sandbag, Tabuu, Sandbag) -Mewtwo -Deoxys -Gold (he'd be like PKMN trainer, except with Johto starters) -MissingNo. (I can dream, can't I?)
Though, I do have to admit, he did SUCK in melee. Though, I think the solution would be to a) make the shadow balls home in, b) replace hypnosis with say...recover, c) higher jump stats, d) replace disable with reflect.
@StuffedAnimalPlanet I don't think a move that gives 25% homing in is a good idea that would be abused very badly and same with recover. Mewtwo was actually a decent character in melee regardless of what that tier list said.
And about the Dojo I hated that website for 2 reasons. 1) Spoiled EVERYTHING about the game. Which is like peeking at your presents early it's lame. 2) Generates massive hype. You can have your dojo just so long as NONE of this info gets back to me. I'm content not knowing
@DayLaMike That's why you don't overpower him. Recover could work slowly, and have it so you can't move while using it. The I actually think a better alternative to homing would be to make them move faster.

NO!!!! Don't get rid of the dojo! Do you know how frustrated I am with companies not telling us what's gonna be in the game until it comes out? I mean, things like important plot twists and such should be kept out, but what items do, what enemies there are ect? Anyways, I really enjoyed keeping track of the dojo, it was exciting to see what they'd reveal next.

More characters does not a good game make. It could have 100 characters but if they aren't well constructed and unique they're just arbitrary and pointless. Look at BlazBlue. What, 14 characters in the first game? Around 18-20 in the second if I remember correctly? But each character is unique and fun to play and there's no need for anyone else. I'd like to see higher quality characters, not just the clones and retarded cameos that plagued Melee and Brawl.
@DoragonShinzui I've only played BlazBlue once so I dont know much about it. But the thing about smash brothers is that it's a crossover fighting game. Games like this characters are probably one of the most important parts. People want to see their favorites make it in to the game, they want that fanservice. Games like BlazBlue, soul calibur and other non crossovers, definitely should follow what you said and I agree with you. But as far as smash bros the more characters/franchises the better.
@DoragonShinzui And as far as clones are concerned there's nothing really wrong with them. Sure they have the same attacks but the moves are totally different in effect and behavior. I wouldn't mind seeing the melee clones making a return even if they came as DLC. I liked the clones in melee especially Pichu and Dr. Mario :D
(3.5) ATLAST Lyn was given role as an AT. It could be worse, she could have NOT appeared even as an AT. Why do People want Blood Falcon? He is a literal CLONE (blood clone) and is already an alternate costume. Also, at least Ridley was FIGHTABLE. King K Rool wasn't even a boss. Also, Sakurai didn't know at the time that people actually wanted Ridley to be playable and not just as a boss. He didn't even know that Krystal existed until it was too late. Plusle and Minum is just the random button.

Where's the proof that he said he would remove clones? From what I heard, that was just a rumor. That's like thinking that Sakurai promised to remove the ice climbers and mr.game&watch. When a character damages him/herself and the game outrights tellls you that the character isn't that good, you can tell that the character is a joke. Jigglypuff is still in smash bros becuase of her Japanese popularity.

Pichu only damages himself on electric attacks because that's what he does he electric is still premature therefor you must adopt a more strategical approach to fighting. As far as everyone else is concerned a lot of wanted character videos were made for brawl opinions were voiced on forums. He knew well.
Ike COULD be removed. However, he has an american fanbase and his came from the first 3D fire emblem game. Lyn could have a chance in the 3DS version due to historical reasons (first international fire emblem game). She could also get in the WiiU version if Sakurai chooses not to take another recent lord. But, I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. Roy nether has the first 3D game, recent game, nor historical fire emblem. Rob and G&W are RETRO, so they don't need revelance.
@OmegaBlueWind74 While roy lacks these things it's blatantly obvious people want him back. Not to mention after playing Blazing Swords tons of people went to go find an english version of roys game since Blazing Sword is a prequel to Sealed Sword. Oh that and the fact he was in Melee makes him quite popular. There are a ton of people who want to pit Ike against Roy. Roy, Marth, Ike and Lyn are probably the best known FE lords overall so just toss them all in there.
(10) I doubt Masterpieces will even return for SSB4, because demos later on began to appear on the Wii shop channel.

I think the reason they took out mewtwo and replace it with lucario is because of promtioning the sereis. mewtwo was repersent the sereis and the movie on the time and lucario the same thing. the new ssb for the wii u lucario is going to be replace by another pokemon to repersent the black and white anime sereis and furture movie. Also i think there are two links in the ssb. games is because both are repersenting their own timeline version of themselfs in the zelda spilt timeline theoy
@iforgotabout That's what I've heard be said about Mewtwo's removal. But that just begs the question why not just keep him and add someone from the Next generation. The roster would have a timeline effect to it. You could see where the series has come from to where it is now. @DayLaMike though jiggypuff purpose is for the couple 1st season's of pokemon, so they took out Mewtwo and put Lucario. I dont know why they added the pokemon traner, maybe an excuse to use more diffent pokemon in a diffent SSB.games.like now on the wii SSB. has the 1st gen starters and the wii u SSB. might have the 2nd gen pokemon and the next the 3rd gen.
And on #3, the reason they didn't include over 50 characters in Brawl is because they can't hold that much data on a Wii disc without getting rid of a bunch of features. The reason the roster was doubled from N64 to Melee was because actually, the N64 roster was originally supposed to include more characters (a total of 18). The N64 game still had a lot of free data. That's why there was a huge jump in characters from N64 to Melee.
@KHJEDIMASTER You have a point there but brawl does have a few useless features that could have been axed to make room for characters. But that's the past now this video is basically looking forward to the future and I'm SUREEEEEE Wii U will have more than enough space on Disc for this request of mine. I do see your point though nintendo is stepping there game up though which is always nice to see.
@DayLaMike But they are only going to include around 50 characters most likely because if they included around 70 characters for SSB4 while keeping the roster balanced, they wouldn't have many good choices left to add to SSB5. For Pokemon, we would get more choices, because by the time we get to SSB5, Generation VI will most likely be occuring, if not already in Generation VII, but we won't really have any more good Mario and Zelda characters to add to keep up with Pokemon.

I mean they could really dig into some franchises I've seen some really good ideas for characters (from nintendo franchises) on youtube. Would you think to use epic yarn kirby? Nintendo is HUGE in terms of characters. I doubt they could run out of ideas. Also Megaman and bomberman would be great 3rd party additions (the only ones I want to see). Agree with you on some, but just to clarify on #7, Information on Hidden characters were not revealed on the Dojo until after the game's release in Japan. The reason the entire roster was known before the games's initial Japan release was because someone who got the game early leaked all the information about the game.

one of the reasons I've heard for games having small rosters is that companys want to be sure that people can remember movesets for the characters, and while this is a good reason for not having ginormous rosters like those in MvC2, smash bros. is the easiest fighter ever made that comes to most peoples minds, and I also agree that clones are not bad, they could even be in Smash Bros. 4 but have alternate Final smashs, which could be a easier way to change characters movesets if only slightly.

If you have a roster of like 50+ characters there's no way one person is going to be interested in all of them so they would only memorize the movesets of the ones they like having a bigger roster only makes for more variety in multiplayer interaction...or it least that's the way I see it but companies usually think differently than everyone else. @bmskooter451 Mario has 6 mario related characters and pokemon has 7 playable characters. I don't think 4 fire emblem characters would be a problem. Not to mention this would give us another female character to use. Nintendo knows people like Lyn enough to make her an assist trophy anyway just make her playable. The whole point of #3 is expansion. Franchises already in SSB should get more characters from their games in and new nintendo franchises should be welcomed in as well.

@fawfulmark2 That's what one of my friends told me when brawl was released but I couldn't use that to cover up the fact I was playing pikachu who by the way I hate. Also I believe that the pikachu in the SSB series is ashes pikachu which we all know is a super 1337 h4xor. He can defeat an onix with thunder shock and a rhydon by shocking it's horn. He also learned volt tackle through training i'm sure ash also game him the "wall jump" TM as well. It's just a funny thought.

Jigglypuff the only thing I can think of is that she is a running gag from the first few seasons of pokemon and thus she was included in the original. She's already been in 3 games so she's here to stay. No one needs to be removed. Bring characters back and add new ones for more variety.

@3Dolimar Wrong again. If you spam lightning and thundershock with pichu you will make it easier for people to kill you. The fact that his electric attacks give him damage makes him a bad spammer which is why pichu players rely heavily on his non electric attacks. Pichu players pwn because they know how to use him not spamming. Any character can be used for tornaments or serious fights. It's all about who you're good with.
I think Mega Man would have fit well then another shitty blue hedgehog we know. And I laugh at the thought that the next SSB will have to be cartoonish because of Loz: Skyward Sword and DKC Returns
@PkKirby876 I play as Kirby, Game and Watch, Pokemon trainer (mainly ivysaur), Diddy kong, and Luigi. Those are my best characters. Other characters I have a love/hate relationship with are Marth (he is far too overused) Toon Link and Captain Falcon. That's my crew so to speak.

@ballsbaby123 No I doubt it, as awesome as that would be Rare created banjo kazooie. Then they got bought by microsoft. Why nintendo let such a great company go is beyond me. So as you could very well imagine copyright would be a pain for nintendo to get through. Also the trailer for nuts and bolts shows a statue of mario and said statues head being blown off by banjo himself. I don't think it's a possibility.
#3 - I'm not too concerned about the character roster as long as it's not stupidly handled. I'm not a fan of Lyn, but more playable girl characters would be nice. I'd particularly like to see Dixie Kong. Brownie points if she's balanced.
And I'm not sure Captain Falcon isn't bad. Just has poor priority.
@MasterKnightDH I would totally love to see Dixie in there as well, it would be awesome. As far as captain falcon is concerned he was good in melee but was nerfed or something going into brawl. Even though I hate tier lists they pretty much moved him from a high tier to near the bottom. That shows that his performance is not as good as it was. Hopefully they will fix him up for the next game whatever the issue is.
#9 - hmm, recovery becomes harder? Didn't know that, it wasn't too hard to begin with. But definitely agreed with the comboing bullshit. And also, how about when I myself suffer Lucas's Up Smash THREE times at kill percentages in the same match without any hope of dodging it.
#8 - as long as the minigames that are around aren't a problem, I'm not too concerned.
Very well put together list. Just a bit of friendly advice, turn up your mic or turn down the background music. I still have that problem from time to time but that's all I can really say about the quality. A lot of the stuff (besides what I say) I agree with, but don't forget what it was like when the game was still in development and we would go months before even hearing the slightest bit of news on the game. I would have it as keep spoiliers out but show the basic stuff. Just me though.

I think for ssb4 characters will be exclusive too bothe versions of the game.
For exemple: Wario will be on the 3DS and Bowser will be on the Wii U.
Also I have a few ideas for the new characters: Geno, Starfy, Pacman, Megaman, Zoroark, Bomberman
And remove: Lucario, Captain Falcon, Jigglypuff, all clones
And add more forms for exemple: Mario can be Dr Mario or Pokemon Trainer can have other regional starter Pokemon

As far a Pichu is concerned he represents 2nd gen and is the baby form of the mascot for pokemon. I don't see how he's a joke especially over someone like jigglypuff who's whole existence was to be a running gag for the show (probably the only reason she got in to begin with).

Where's the proof that he said he would remove clones? From what I heard, that was just a rumor. That's like thinking that Sakurai promised to remove the ice climbers and mr.game&watch. Pichu was actually throwen in as an intentional joke. When a character damages him/herself and the game outrights tellls you that the character isn't that good, you can tell that the character is a joke. Jigglypuff is still in smash bros becuase of her Japanese popularity.

Pichu only damages himself on electric attacks because that's what he does he electric is still premature therefor you must adopt a more strategical approach to fighting. Lyn is no longer relevant but people still want her in. Game & watch was a retro character brought back out of know where. If ROB a toy can get in why shouldn't Roy or Lyn especially when people LIKE them. As far as everyone else is concerned a lot of wanted character videos were made for brawl opinions were voiced on forums. He knew well.

Ike COULD be removed. However, he has an american fanbase and his came from the first 3D fire emblem game. Lyn could have a chance in the 3DS version due to historical reasons (first international fire emblem game). She could also get in the WiiU version if Sakurai chooses not to take another recent lord. But, I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. Roy nether has the first 3D game, recent game, nor historical fire emblem. Rob and G&W are RETRO, so they don't need revelance.

Not to mention after playing Blazing Swords tons of people went to go find an english version of roys game since Blazing Sword is a prequel to Sealed Sword. Oh that and the fact he was in Melee makes him quite popular. There are a ton of people who want to pit Ike against Roy. Roy, Marth, Ike and Lyn are probably the best known FE lords overall so just toss them all in there.

(10) I doubt Masterpieces will even return for SSB4, because demos later on began to appear on the Wii shop channel.
(9) Combos also exsisted in Melee and could punish anybody that makes a mistake. Go compalin about that as well. I doubt Melle gravity will ever retun. However, we could expect SSB64 gravity (which is somewhat heavier than Brawl's)

9) I've been playing melee twice as long as I've been playing brawl and Well I've never been monstrously combo'd like in brawl. Brawl in general does a lot to interrupt the fighting. 64 gravity would be better than brawls anything would honestly.

I think the reason they took out mewtwo and replace it with lucario is because of promtioning the sereis. mewtwo was repersent the sereis and the movie on the time and lucario the same thing. the new ssb for the wii u lucario is going to be replace by another pokemon to repersent the black and white anime sereis and furture movie. Also i think there are two links in the ssb. games is because both are repersenting their own timeline version of themselfs in the zelda spilt timeline theoy

@iforgotabout That's what I've heard be said about Mewtwo's removal. But that just begs the question why not just keep him and add someone from the Next generation. The roster would have a timeline effect to it. You could see where the series has come from to where it is now. Also if that is the case why did they add pokemon trainer with a complete team of 1st gen starters? They don't really represent anything current.

They probailty wanted to put Mewtwo there and add Lucario with it but they must have tought about the next SSB. where they need to add one to repersent the Black and White anime sereis and the movies but then they have to think about who to take off since they want maximum of 4 repersenting there own sereis. they could not kick out jiggypuff becuse being a ssb orginal even

@DayLaMike though jiggypuff purpose is for the couple 1st season's of pokemon, so they took out Mewtwo and put Lucario. I dont know why they added the pokemon traner, maybe an excuse to use more diffent pokemon in a diffent SSB.games.like now on the wii SSB. has the 1st gen starters and the wii u SSB. might have the 2nd gen pokemon and the next the 3rd gen.

And on #3, the reason they didn't include over 50 characters in Brawl is because they can't hold that much data on a Wii disc without getting rid of a bunch of features. The reason the roster was doubled from N64 to Melee was because actually, the N64 roster was originally supposed to include more characters (a total of 18). The N64 game still had a lot of free data. That's why there was a huge jump in characters from N64 to Melee.

But that's the past now this video is basically looking forward to the future and I'm SUREEEEEE Wii U will have more than enough space on Disc for this request of mine. @DayLaMike But they are only going to include around 50 characters most likely because if they included around 70 characters for SSB4 while keeping the roster balanced, they wouldn't have many good choices left to add to SSB5. For Pokemon, we would get more choices, because by the time we get to SSB5, Generation VI will most likely be occuring, if not already in Generation VII, but we won't really have any more good Mario and Zelda characters to add to keep up with Pokemon.

I mean they could really dig into some franchises I've seen some really good ideas for characters (from nintendo franchises) on youtube. Would you think to use epic yarn kirby? Nintendo is HUGE in terms of characters. I doubt they could run out of ideas. Also Megaman and bomberman would be great 3rd party additions (the only ones I want to see). I feel a character vid coming on lol.

Agree with you on some, but just to clarify on #7, Information on Hidden characters were not revealed on the Dojo until after the game's release in Japan. The reason the entire roster was known before the games's initial Japan release was because someone who got the game early leaked all the information about the game.

one of the reasons I've heard for games having small rosters is that companys want to be sure that people can remember movesets for the characters, and while this is a good reason for not having ginormous rosters like those in MvC2, smash bros. is the easiest fighter ever made that comes to most peoples minds, and I also agree that clones are not bad, they could even be in Smash Bros. 4 but have alternate Final smashs, which could be a easier way to change characters movesets if only slightly.

If you have a roster of like 50+ characters there's no way one person is going to be interested in all of them so they would only memorize the movesets of the ones they like having a bigger roster only makes for more variety in multiplayer interaction...or it least that's the way I see it but companies usually think differently than everyone else. @bmskooter451 Mario has 6 mario related characters and pokemon has 7 playable characters. I don't think 4 fire emblem characters would be a problem. Not to mention this would give us another female character to use. Nintendo knows people like Lyn enough to make her an assist trophy anyway just make her playable. The whole point of #3 is expansion. Franchises already in SSB should get more characters from their games in and new nintendo franchises should be welcomed in as well.

good video, but just one point I had to make: the Pichu in Melee evolved into the Pikachu in Brawl. proof?
1:Pika in Brawl has the same alts Pichu did
2: in Brawl, Pikachu can wall jump, which only Pichu could do in Melee
3; his FS is volt tackle, which is an egg move that can only be learned as a Pichu
so, he technically is in brawl.... just not as a pichu.

@fawfulmark2 That's what one of my friends told me when brawl was released but I couldn't use that to cover up the fact I was playing pikachu who by the way I hate. Also I believe that the pikachu in the SSB series is ashes pikachu which we all know is a super 1337 h4xor. He can defeat an onix with thunder shock and a rhydon by shocking it's horn. He also learned volt tackle through training i'm sure ash also game him the "wall jump" TM as well. It's just a funny thought.

Jigglypuff the only thing I can think of is that she is a running gag from the first few seasons of pokemon and thus she was included in the original. She's already been in 3 games so she's here to stay. No one needs to be removed. Bring characters back and add new ones for more variety.

@3Dolimar Wrong again. If you spam lightning and thundershock with pichu you will make it easier for people to kill you. The fact that his electric attacks give him damage makes him a bad spammer which is why pichu players rely heavily on his non electric attacks. Pichu players pwn because they know how to use him not spamming. Any character can be used for tornaments or serious fights. It's all about who you're good with.

So as you could very well imagine copyright would be a pain for nintendo to get through. Also the trailer for nuts and bolts shows a statue of mario and said statues head being blown off by banjo himself. I don't think it's a possibility.

#3 - I'm not too concerned about the character roster as long as it's not stupidly handled. I'm not a fan of Lyn, but more playable girl characters would be nice. I'd particularly like to see Dixie Kong. Brownie points if she's balanced.
And I'm not sure Captain Falcon isn't bad. Just has poor priority.

@MasterKnightDH I would totally love to see Dixie in there as well, it would be awesome. As far as captain falcon is concerned he was good in melee but was nerfed or something going into brawl. Even though I hate tier lists they pretty much moved him from a high tier to near the bottom. That shows that his performance is not as good as it was. Hopefully they will fix him up for the next game whatever the issue is.

Very well put together list. Just a bit of friendly advice, turn up your mic or turn down the background music. I still have that problem from time to time but that's all I can really say about the quality. A lot of the stuff (besides what I say) I agree with, but don't forget what it was like when the game was still in development and we would go months before even hearing the slightest bit of news on the game. I would have it as keep spoiliers out but show the basic stuff. Just me though.
