@drewskione Thanks for your comment - it's always great to hear from someone in the field of biology that can verify these things. @DianeDi Well, you know what they tell me when I mention the environmental aspect? They don't believe in global warming. Apparently, they don't believe in water pollution or Pfiesteria either...erm?

This sounds like a bunch of hog wash statistics and worst of the worst videos to me. Fish is a healthy alternative to fast food, for a family meal. Just because you hippy vegetarians research dolphin violence you think anyone who eats seafood should be judged. You're overall message is unguided, you are advising everyone to stop eating fish, that's ridiculous. Oh No dont eat tuna! Out of the millions of cans sold and eaten every year one kid was affected, in which he was probably allergic to it.
@jollyjoshhalo I'm not making this stuff up. I was once a consumer of lots of animal products. I've spent years researching and sadly we have been lied to. Corporations that run these industries are massive and have a lot to lose. It's not about one kid being affected or dolphins, sharks or other, this is a serious health issue.
Don't take my word for it - the answers are out there and it's not from the mainstream media and advertisers.
@jollyjoshhalo advising everyone seriously wants to watch this vid, and your tuna will disapear from your dinner table in a couple years you want it or not. seems you want it a lot
@pachu4 Because all animal products make humans sick, maybe not right away, but it is why there is so much heart disease and cancer in this world, especially in North America where they continually eat this in excess.
@DianeDi Get out of here you, toon. why the fvck do you think we evolved canine in our dentition for. Maybe you don't know, but when we shifted from hunter-gathering to farming our size shrunk considerably. Hunter-gatherers were far larger than farmers because they consumed more meat. Our life expectancy has increased with increase consumption of meat; so I believe this is all hogwash. Predators are always superior to prey.

I would say I'm 80-90% recovered compared to when my mercury poisoning symptoms were the most intense.
@nisserot Good for you! Getting better that is. I understand chelation therapy is definitely the way to go. Also, avoid all vaccines, as many if not most, contain thimerosal aka (mercury).
@Keroppi19 Vacuuming the oceans, that's exactly what it is. People have been told that consuming seafood is healthy, however, even before pollution was at an all time high it was still not a healthy choice. Eating animals is responsible for most degenerative diseases, the heavy metals R an added bonus. Now they're producing GMO salmon, untested. Wait til that gets loose - who knows what that will do to the species. Watch Earthings - link on my main page description under Recommended Viewing.
if you do not like eating meat thats fine! i respect your vegie eating ways! i like eating meat and will never stop! not even for the so called health reasons! you can die of so many other things! "oh, im not going going to eat that cause it might give me canser in 20 years!" fuck that! do not get me wrong i love vegies! you cant have a mid-rare steak without steamed vegies and a baked patato!
@vibratinjoy It's true - you can die from many other things, but most of those "other things" which are disease related are directly caused from eating animals. We are what we eat and other than extreme exposures to toxins and other chemicals, our body's immune will fight off most everything. In 20 years from now, you will look back at what you are saying and perhaps realize eating animals was a poor dietary choice. To each their own I suppose.
I was a vegetarian that turned pescatarian for a while. Thanks for bumping me back to vegetarian. Seeing for myself what a destructive, unhealthy, and cruel practice it is helped me to swear it off again for good.
@GodlessGirI BRAVO for you. Omega 3's are plentiful in walnuts and flax seed. No need to consume these sea animals ;o) Just a suggestion, and don't think I'm pushing anything on you, because I'm not. You may want to check out my milk video on my main page - as well as the links in the video description. Dairy products do much more harm to health than many will ever believe. It's scared me off the stuff years ago and my own doctor told me it's the first thing humans should eliminate.
@msalah2341 The sad part is, you've been TOLD it's good for you. Stop listening to "authority", they try desperately to rule the world. Think for yourself and try to understand that all animal products create huge profits - not only from the farming level, but then on to processing, to packaging, to retail sales, fast food, then - get this..to big pharma and the medical industry who profit 100% from our diseases. It takes a few years, but the profits are well worth waiting for. Open your eyes.
@712maggot Nooo... Don't give in. Refuse. No matter how mad she gets, all parents want the best for their children, refuse to eat the meat, and she will most likely understand that you really want this, and not just "a fase".
I feel a bit conflicted about my omnivorous nature sometimes. On one hand, I feel like eating meat is simply my naturalistic 'duty' or 'right'. On the other hand, the treatment of the animals, and the fact that a very conscious, living, thinking creature has to die for my nourishment, seems a bit primitive and unnecessary. Very conflicted, actually.
@HowlinJay - Wow, you sound like me a few years ago. If it's of any consolation, may I suggest a couple of vids you should watch. Being informed to me, is more important and I know I always wished someone told me many years ago. Check out my main page... under "about me". I have links to EARTHINGS - FOOD THAT KILLS - MAD COWBOY... well that will be a great start. I am not trying to change others, only educate so they can make informed decisions. It's a choice that comes from within.
@aquaphone Fish most definitely feel pain, just like you, maybe more so from the sounds of you. They have a face, eyes, brain and sense danger. They most certainly do feel pain and they know suffocation the most... that is when they are dragged out of water and left to "suffocate" without air, above the oceans/lakes. You really need to do a little more research before you make such "absolute" statements of this nature. You have no clue do you!
@aquaphone Wow who taught you your ignorace, astounding that you would be so selfish into thinking that humans are only capable of feelings, or have pain sensors. Does the sea animals (fish) not breathe, breed, feed just like you? ALL living creatures share in the two basic emotions of LOVE and FEAR and the pursuit of happiness. Thou you might justify your killing and eating of animals in your mind as "normal" or "painless" does not make it true. Thank you diane for another great video!
@ChilenoPiscean22 Thank you - these, as all beings are not only in this world, they are very much aware of it and their surroundings. Mankind is raping and eating our planet to death. Every living thing has a purpose, however I've deducted that perhaps the Earth would flourish without humans.
I do also agree about the mercury. It is amplified through the food chain, and is definitely poisonous in large amounts. But this is due to pollution by people. Fish do not (i think) inherently have copious amounts of mercury.
So rather than attack the practice of being an omnivore, we should reconsider how we understand food preparation and animal rights. Less meat perhaps, but not b/c it's wrong to eat animals. HOW we are eating them is more the problem.
@know You know, I really do hear what you are saying. I thought just that way a number of years ago. I was a meat eating, dairy drinking individual like 95% of the population. Maybe, just maybe you would be interested in taking a little time to watch some videos on my main page. EARTHINGS, FOOD THAT KILLS and even FOOD INC.
It's a little more complex than just thinking it's natural and good for us. The truth is, animal products are responsible for most diseases.
I do not believe that the eating of meat and/or fish is 'immoral'. Animals eat fish. Bears eat fish. Birds eat fish. Fish eat fish. HUMANS eat fish. It's the circle of life.
HOWEVER, the practices employed by many in the food industry are questionable. It is an industry that often pollutes the environment and squanders our resources. And the cruelty (in some cases) that comes with raising animals for food is very real.
@knowgostick the circle of life hey? i dont know this but i bet you its been proven that HUMANS dont need to eat meat...bears,fish,birds and so on and so forth are not humans but im not against eating meat although even if any SANE person sits and thinks about it i guess it is a touch immoral i mean they put down an animal if it eats a human...why whats so important about us humans ..... just because we think we are but like i said im not against eating meat......
@deracinated1 Thanks so much and please do share. It's hard to promote health when the Tell Lie Vision is full of commercials, brainwashing the public into eating high priced packaged and fast foods that will only lead them into the hands of the pharmaceutic KILL industry.
waltnuts flaxseeds.... so you expect us to eat all kinds of nuts that has omega 3 in it???
we cant grow that kind of seeds here.... when a Strong storm comes in to the Philippines there's a flood. when The flood comes it destroys all our Vegetation
We don't grow those kinds of seeds here, but it's far safer, healthier and less stressful on the environment. Why kill something with a face - because it has a heart, eyes just like us. They have a right to life as we do. Humans are exploiting the sea creature population. They are the filters of the oceans. As for Jesus, that is a personal choice. I choose to be Athiest, and I kill nothing. I am a good person either way and I don't need to follow someone else's rules to know that.
i wasted 4 minutes of my life, i came here to learn about why not to eat fish... now they want me to go veg??? going veigtarian isnt doing anything, the animals are already killed.. doesnt bother to eat them and avoid trashing the earth with dead animals
If you are so worried about fish being polluted, just eat processed fish oil capsules.
The BIG problem with ANY plant based omega 3 fat is the overwhelming presence of omega 6. The body cannot use omega 3 when omega 6 is in excess. Any excess omega6 to omega 3 ratio of 1 to 1 is a problem. Flaxseed is the only plant source with high omega 3. However, ALL other plant oils have large amounts of omega 6. To use omega 3 effectively, you need to limit any other plant oil containing omega fat .
I agree that tuna in general is not very good for you because they do contain high amounts of mercury, however other fish that aren't poisoned by mercury are suppose to be very good for health (such as wild salmon). Please do not make a generalization about fish being bad for health.
I believe that, when you eat fish-buy fish from the market-your killing a animal-A animal who was living its life-normal until a fisherman came and catched it and sold it to the market-When you ever buy wish think "what If I was the fish" would YOU like it if someone came and took your life away and froced to kill u and sell you so ppl can EAT you-C`mon Fishis have life like all us humans-They`er animals n we`r humans-So what. WE both have our OWN lifes- and want to live -Not be caught and killed
"...unable to catch a ball because he ate too much tuna fish."
HILARIOUS!!!
This seems to be a very informative piece. I'd have to do my own research first to feel one way or the other. I did know about the mercury deal though... thinking about a salmon / tuna replacement in my diet as I've been feeling the effects of high mercury levels...
For omega 3 and 6 eat walnuts and flax seed. No need to eat fish of any type. Man has polluted the waterways so badly that you can find a number of toxins in the flesh of all sea animals. It's no health food, that's for sure. They are the filters of the oceans, much like my oil filter on my car - I sure wouldn't want to eat that either.
i am a skateboarder i get injuries. cod liver oil lubricates my bones. without it ide get autharitis at an early age, what am i meant to do instead, suffer? p.s/ dont chew cod liver oil tablets it dont taste too good.
Fish oil is not the only source of Omega 3. It can be totally obtained from plant based sources, eg. Flaxseeds, flaxseed oil caps, walnuts and other sources. All I'm saying is it's certainly a personal choice, but I would rather eat walnuts and get my oils, and not get mercury.
oooooooooooooooooooo this is one of those PETA things. i didn't know till i got to the end. PETA hauls in a bigger load of bullshit then those fishing nets.
oooooooo surpassed dogs in intelgience tests. Last time i checked dogs ate their own vomit. Allthough i will say this if you do buy fish beware of who you buy it from. If you smart you can easily buy fish that is toxic for you, and buy it from companies that do not break fishing regulations.
I don't care fish is good and healthy good for the body why do you think asians eat sooo much fish ( i dunno ) but they are smarter people than us and they eat alot of fish so why no eat fish :D
I just love your kind.... keep eating fish my friend... we really do need to thin the herd. 15 years old and you seem to know everything.... good luck !
right at 0:40 i wanna puntch him in da FACE!!! (o ya im with ya) i ONLY if anything eat frsh water and i olny eat that oonce a year when i go to canada fishing (fish dont have nerves so they cant feel)!
junkerman321... in all honestly, do you really believe that fish feel no pain? Have you ever seen a fish bite into a hook and then be pulled out of water onto a boat, flapping around in terror. I'm sorry, as much as I agree with the first part of your statement,,, I don't agree that they don't feel. Beings were not put on this planet to NOT feel pain, it is about their basic survival, as most creatures with brains, eyes, ears, etc. Just something to think about or at least research.
Any bit of poison in my mind, is too much. Do remember that this type of poison accumulates in our brains, organs, etc. Perhaps it's time to let the fish be.... if we keep buying it and eating it, they will keep killing / fishing for it. The waters are so polluted as you know and they live in this cesspool - why would you even find that appetzing?
i cant believe they cut that dolphins throat like that! horrible! i dont eat fish anyways i just dont like it but now im really thinking of becoming a vegetarian all together. im nervous for some reason but i just signed up for the starter guide..wish me luck! im not really impressionable person but seeing that dolphin killed like that really got to me.
I know exactly how you feel. If you are interested, you should watch EARTHLINGS... on my main page. It angered me enough to go vegan and I never looked back. Sometimes we need to understand and educate ourselves because mainstream media will never tell you because it is owned by the corporations that do these things to animals, whether for food, clothing or entertainment and testing.
also. the fact they tell you not to eat fish is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. I do not like the taste of fish at all but find a way to get it into my diet because off how essential fish oil can be to your lipid membranes. Just dont eat swordfish... again, do your own research.
I will be posting an interview in the next week about his subject. Truly you must realize that omegas do not come from fish.... as these fish eat algae and other greens... all omega 3 and 6 comes from greens, not the fish/animals that consume them. Just google it and have a bit of a read on the subject.
Great video, my friend! Everyone should see this! As a vegan, I am always asked if I eat fish at least... Funny because fish is even less healthy than anything else!
I've never liked fish - just can't stand the smell.... lucky for me, particularly knowing the health risks associated with it. People think they have to eat fish for Omega nutrients but you can get that in much healthier sources. The fish get it from eating algae.
I suppose if you know where there is still "freshwater" around, well maybe then you might find some uncontaminated fish... fat chance thou. As for overfishing, it will stop, because there won't be any left. I would tell the fisherman to start growing grains, fruits and vegetables and try to plan ahead.
Ah my friend. Such a cruel reality. Disgusting to say the least. I am so glad I never liked fish. When will people realize. Thanks for posting this info. Everyone should watch this. Bravo to you.
You should watch the movie 'The day the Earth stood still" people say is really bad but is because they don't get the message.
Also watch "The fantastic planet" and "A space odyssey 2010"... you will know why.
we are viruses that need to evolve and become someting else just like Buddha used to say we must learn how to live in peace with everything that surround us.
THE ARCTIC has been transformed into the planet's chemical trash can. The final destination for industrial chemicals, pesticides, power-plant emissions, and other toxic waste that migrates to, and precipitates in, cold-climate waters.
Just as poisonous chemicals accumulate in the fat of ocean wildlife, they, too,
accumulate in the human body as people consume fish.
What an extrodinary explanation... how true can one summarize what are the facts for these creatures,, sea creatures, truly are. If I didn't know better you are a true human being with feeling, compassion and heart and soul. Most would never understand my rant, but CD I bet you get it. Thanks, and if I can make a difference in this world, one person at a time, I will... if that's what it takes... one person, at , a , time.... well so be it.
I don't eat tofu, to me that is processed food, and i can honestly say i don't like it... it's not a healthy product and yes if I had to say - well I wouldn't use the word poison, but I sure would say it's not health food, and it's okay to leave this off your plate. Eat the real foods, foods that grow, live food. I still love starch... that is the basic health food diet... a starch based diet... pasta, potatoes, rice, corn... and build around that.
I know, and that is super wrong, that is why I think religion is pointless. Religion was created just to take advantage of peoples lifes, money, and make them stupid.
We all should try to be vegetarians and by all I mean the whole world. There are more sources of protein, carbs and other nutrients such as tofu, soy and many other nuts.
I bet you would appreciate the documentary EARTHLINGS... it's on my playlist... it is a real eye opener and life altering. Thanks so much for your comments!
no, its just honesty, look, whether one believes in god or not its like this if god wanted us to be veggie he would have made us so and if god doesnt exist well then evolution made us so....it may beunethical or immoral but thats honesty.
*Omega-3 Fats do not come from fish (they don't produce it).
*Omega-3 Fat comes from algae (fish eat the algae as part of their diet).
We can of course eat the algae ourselves (spare the fish their lives). Chlorella and spirulina provide valuable sources of these converted fats as well as a whole host of other nutrients. Besides fish contains mercury and other toxic contaminates - not things you want in your body.
NEWS: "SEAFOOD one of the Biggest causes of FOOD POISONING in HUMANS"
CNN: 7 Aug
"WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- Seafood is the biggest cause of food poisoning in the United States, causing over 237 outbreaks since 1990.
"SEAFOOD harbors a host of hazards for the unsuspecting consumer," Caroline Smith DeWaal, Director CSPI, said in a statement.
The group said Meat was involved in over 91 outbreaks of human poisoning. Report was confirmed by data obtained by the US Center for Disease Control (CDC).
its pretty evil when i think about it...to be honest if i were able to go veg i would, my mum is, but i just like the taste of meat....someone needs to try to study the meaning of animal sounds maybe decode them if i knew they were communicating i would stop instantly.
75 million cases of food poisoning occur in the United States each year and 5,000 people die from it.
Causes of human poisoning from food, are salmonella bacteria from the rectums of animals, listeria, which grows in cheese and other unpasteurized animal products, meat and seafood and, in recent years, a toxic strain of E. coli bacteria. Meat and Seafood being the primary causes of death.
How true, and lets not forgot "Pfiesteria piscicida, a tiny marine organism identified in the last decade in estuaries in North Carolina and Delaware and in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries, has been blamed for killing fish and causing health problems in humans." I believe some photos of those fish which looked as though they had flesh eating disease is in fact " Pfiesteria " .
If somebody puts two plates in front of you one with human meat and one with cow meat can you tell the difference? would you eat it even though you say meat tastes good?
im guessing you dont eat meat, if you did you would know there is a big difference in the types, some people who eat meat dont like lamb, if it all tasted the same why would they eat some types and not others?
eliaskollado- they cant see your point. part of eating meat means not really getting it, not knowing, not understanding. once u find out, and u make that connection- u go veg. but not before.
I grew up in San Diego and swam with fish growing up. They were my friends and I stopped eating them as a child. How can we eat the things we stay we love? xo
I love eating fish, so I will not stop eating fish.

As someone who cares about the welfare of the planet, I am no longer going to support the vacuming of the oceans.
Oh, and also (of course!) because of the pain that the animals go through.
Keroppi19 1 year ago
@Keroppi19 Vacuuming the oceans, that's exactly what it is. People have been told that consuming seafood is healthy, however, even before pollution was at an all time high it was still not a healthy choice. Eating animals is responsible for most degenerative diseases, the heavy metals R an added bonus. Now they're producing GMO salmon, untested. Wait til that gets loose - who knows what that will do to the species. Watch Earthings - link on my main page description under Recommended Viewing.

vibratinjoy 1 year ago
@vibratinjoy It's true - you can die from many other things, but most of those "other things" which are disease related are directly caused from eating animals. We are what we eat and other than extreme exposures to toxins and other chemicals, our body's immune will fight off most everything. In 20 years from now, you will look back at what you are saying and perhaps realize eating animals was a poor dietary choice. To each their own I suppose.

I have links to EARTHINGS - FOOD THAT KILLS - MAD COWBOY... well that will be a great start. I am not trying to change others, only educate so they can make informed decisions. It's a choice that comes from within.

Bullshit, fish cannot feel pain. Everyone knows they have no feelings.
aquaphone 1 year ago
@aquaphone Fish most definitely feel pain, just like you, maybe more so from the sounds of you. They have a face, eyes, brain and sense danger. They most certainly do feel pain and they know suffocation the most... that is when they are dragged out of water and left to "suffocate" without air, above the oceans/lakes. You really need to do a little more research before you make such "absolute" statements of this nature. You have no clue do you!
DianeDi 1 year ago

HOW we are eating them is more the problem.
knowgostick 2 years ago 2
@know You know, I really do hear what you are saying. I thought just that way a number of years ago. I was a meat eating, dairy drinking individual like 95% of the population. Maybe, just maybe you would be interested in taking a little time to watch some videos on my main page. EARTHINGS, FOOD THAT KILLS and even FOOD INC.
It's a little more complex than just thinking it's natural and good for us. The truth is, animal products are responsible for most diseases.
I wish I knew earlier.
DianeDi 2 years ago
I do not believe that the eating of meat and/or fish is 'immoral'. Animals eat fish. Bears eat fish. Birds eat fish. Fish eat fish. HUMANS eat fish. It's the circle of life.
HOWEVER, the practices employed by many in the food industry are questionable. It is an industry that often pollutes the environment and squanders our resources. And the cruelty (in some cases) that comes with raising animals for food is very real.
knowgostick 2 years ago
@knowgostick the circle of life hey? i dont know this but i bet you its been proven that HUMANS dont need to eat meat...bears,fish,birds and so on and so forth are not humans but im not against eating meat although even if any SANE person sits and thinks about it i guess it is a touch immoral i mean they put down an animal if it eats a human...why whats so important about us humans ..... just because we think we are but like i said im not against eating meat......

jebogs09 2 years ago
We don't grow those kinds of seeds here, but it's far safer, healthier and less stressful on the environment. Why kill something with a face - because it has a heart, eyes just like us. They have a right to life as we do. Humans are exploiting the sea creature population. They are the filters of the oceans. As for Jesus, that is a personal choice. I choose to be Athiest, and I kill nothing. I am a good person either way and I don't need to follow someone else's rules to know that.

ericm1988 2 years ago
The animals are not ALREADY KILLED. It is about demand for fish. If the demand decreases significantly, so will the mass drudging of our ocean life.
UMakeTheConnection 2 years ago
If you are so worried about fish being polluted, just eat processed fish oil capsules.
The BIG problem with ANY plant based omega 3 fat is the overwhelming presence of omega 6. The body cannot use omega 3 when omega 6 is in excess. Any excess omega6 to omega 3 ratio of 1 to 1 is a problem. Flaxseed is the only plant source with high omega 3. However, ALL other plant oils have large amounts of omega 6. To use omega 3 effectively, you need to limit any other plant oil containing omega fat .
PROFLOP1 2 years ago
Walnuts are an excellent source of omega 3.
DianeDi 2 years ago
Walnuts are a very poor source of omega 3. Ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 is far too high at about 10 to 1. Compared to flaxseed ratio 1 to 4.

I'm sorry, as much as I agree with the first part of your statement,,, I don't agree that they don't feel. Beings were not put on this planet to NOT feel pain, it is about their basic survival, as most creatures with brains, eyes, ears, etc. Just something to think about or at least research.

*Omega-3 Fats do not come from fish (they don't produce it).
*Omega-3 Fat comes from algae (fish eat the algae as part of their diet).

OceanResearch45 3 years ago 2
its pretty evil when i think about it...to be honest if i were able to go veg i would, my mum is, but i just like the taste of meat....someone needs to try to study the meaning of animal sounds maybe decode them if i knew they were communicating i would stop instantly.
lumpfish99 3 years ago
75 million cases of food poisoning occur in the United States each year and 5,000 people die from it.
Causes of human poisoning from food, are salmonella bacteria from the rectums of animals, listeria, which grows in cheese and other unpasteurized animal products, meat and seafood and, in recent years, a toxic strain of E. coli bacteria. Meat and Seafood being the primary causes of death.

How true, and lets not forgot "Pfiesteria piscicida, a tiny marine organism identified in the last decade in estuaries in North Carolina and Delaware and in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries, has been blamed for killing fish and causing health problems in humans."
