At the time I was still unaware of the fact that the PS3's filesystem wasn't 4GB as with the FAT32. They would have had to been transferred through a server, and I was using external hard drives.

O I see, AFAIK, the PS3 OS can handle 20GB file sizes just fine, I've seen many people rip BD movies and the movie itself is about 10-20Gb.

when i turn on my ps3 after afew hours of not playing it says that it cant start because it cant read the hard disk and takes a few trys to turn it on ....why dose this hapen ...its brannew

Butthead roommate's friends and stuff that will steal my movies, for DVD's it will be easy selection of the movies without looking through a folder.
