@misspennyjenny You need to be in the 'Director View' to place characters in your set - this tutorial is about adjusting sets. To place a characterin the 'Director View' , if you are using 1.5 which was released in December, you right-click on the ground to bring up your options, and select 'place character'.

We don't have that yet, but you could use the modder's workshop and import Wild West content from Google Sketchup or create your own.
