my repsond to this video is im not going inside that fright zone haunted house ride - in Erieveiw park , genvea and i will screamed really loud so my lungs will popped out.
I rode the Pretzel ride that preceded the Fright Zone, the year it opened in the mid 50's I was in the 2nd grade. They were having a contest to name the ride. My mother and I rode through it, and the ride was scary to a little kid like me, with dancing skeletons, and realistic sparks flying around the room. We got off the ride only to discover that the roof and the ride were on fire. The firemen got everyone out, but I never rode it again till 30 years later. Then it was the fright zone.
been on this ride. It's ok. But probably more scary then the Whacky Shack at Waldameeer. One time~ my sister got stuck in this when she was little and had to walk out the rest of the way. Literally, the ride just stopped and all the lights when out. Guys with flashlights, came in and had to lead her out the rest of the way.
actually i think your dates are wrong on when they removed the ride considering i worked a few doors down from there that oct and it was still under operation perhaps more around sept
I rode this ride as a child the year it opened. They had a contest to name the new ride. Well the week I was there, it caught fire while I was inside with my mom. It was very scarey, but the fire was contained to the roof and no one was injured. I am 60 years old now, and my mom and I road the frightzone on my birthday ten years ago. Sure felt strange. I could almost smell the smoke. They had the old Pretzel high back cars then. They revolved on turns.
Not making enough money any longer. I went in it a couple times. Now The Strip doesn't even have the shooting gallery any longer. :( I don't know why, but alot of 70's and 80's songs remind me of summer and being ay GOTL.
Last time I was on this ride I was in 1964; I was 12. I was always scared of these rides, so Marty had me go through with all the lights on...then put me and my friend through in the dark and jumped out at me right at the end. Never been in there since, but I am still oh-so-sorry to see it, and all of Erieview Park, gone.
in England they are called Ghost trains. I went on 1 when i was about 6 years old. you were only allowed 1 person in a carriage..
& it stopped half way round. in the pitch black. just stopped dead. and a ghostly creature got in the carriage with me.. that was bloody scary. it would scare me know i think , lete alone back when i was 6. cant remmeber where that was though
Sad news, this classic darkride, with Bill Tracy stunts, may never spook again. The parks been closed and the buildings been auctioned off to a conn. park which is unsure what they will do with it. One of only a handful left in USA
This was originally the Haunted House at West View Park in Pittsburgh in the '70s. It was two-stories at that time. Now it will be at Conneaut Lake Park if they can raise enough money to fix it up and put it in the building that they have for it.
not scary but fun.that sucks that's gone, they should put them back
