  • What does DEAA8KY at the end mean? I'm guessing AA8KY is your handle, so what about the DE?

  • @raosprid AA8KY is my call sign. DE is an abbreviation used in Morse Code which means, "this is."

So DE AA8KY stands for, "this is AA8KY"

  • What is the keying speed ur using?

  • @M70ACARRY I built the keyer and there is an adjustment for the speed but there is no scale. I would say the keyer speed is about 13 WPM but the rate is slower. I am allowing more time between the characters but the speed of the keying is about 13 wpm.

    Thanks for asking!

  • very nice video !!

  • @10SD112 Thanks !

  • As someone starting out to learn cw,would you choose any paticular type of keyer to start on as there seem to be various types being used? Thanks for the great video

  • @mikebuddy1 Thanks for the question. As a learner or an expert, the bencher line of paddles are very inexpensive and ergonomic. I am using a bencher in the video. There are more expensive and in some peoples opinion, "better", but as a beginner I would try one out. I've been doing the code for more than 30 years, and I love the bencher Iambic paddle, and their straight keys. I also love the "TICK" line of keyers for the electronics. A lot of value for the money.

    Good luck!
