The prices I've seen run anywhere from $1,800 to $4,500, depending on breeding, I guess. Then you're in for a shock when you build the enclosure and take your new pet to the vet. All told, be ready to have somewhere from five to ten grand that's not working too hard.

I won't ever buy a Savannah cat because it's a hybrid and most if not all the males are sterile until the 5th generation and the Serval and a Domestic cat would never breed in the wild. they need to have special permits to keep them, these aren't like the common moggy or a dog, this is a wild cat and needs special handling.

if the N.Z gov ever let you import one, you can import them from a breeder in the U.S, then it would most likely be under a permit, as an expert, or for a zoo not as a pet.

In Arizona you do. I know other states allow them, but here, you have to obtain a permit and there are many restrictions and requirements.
