Three months earlier, at the Grammys , Joan Baez used these very words to introduce and defend Natalie. Seems she forgot to correct Joan Baez about "this land is your land" on Grammy night. ROFL.

The controversy had seemingly died down. But three weeks later, the Chicks were beamed into the Academy of Country Music awards during a performance in Austin, Texas. Maines wore a T-shirt with the letters "F.U.T.K." Many considered this an affront to Keith, and consequently, their single "Godspeed" died on the charts. They didn't win any awards that night, while Keith won the entertainer trophy.
I love the Dixie Chicks. Free Republic... is not exactly what I would call an alternative media source when the censor, but whatever. I will look around the site a little more.
