incidentally, there was a time when i did believe everything about and that was associated with global warming. i was very excited when al gore's first book came out in 91 or 92.

not long after global warming became a catch all for ANYTHING--from menstrual cycles to shark attacks. almost daily the media was bombarded by some story of utmost consequence only to have it quietly reversed 6 months later.
