I wanted you to know while I disagree with a lot of your reviews the one you did for this movie was spot on. Everything you said was right. I could fill this comment box with other criticism but I won't
Not having seen the DVD commentary does Braga deserve the blame for the Nexus and its overemphasis?
By the way, I would have had Picard's grief precipitate Data's decision AND have him mourn Tasha Yar's death. Why would Data approach the Captain over his loss? Geordi's kidnapping!
4:11 "What makes any of these characters think that that particular event is relevant to anything that is happening now?" Very true, and very skilled Matt; I hadn't noticed that, and it seems to be something that a lot of people miss.
"THE NEXUS IS NOT A STORY!" I think of this comment every time I watch a preview for the Prince of Persia movie, and I get worried, because I can't help thinking: "THE DAGGER IS NOT A STORY! IT'S JUST A MACGUFFIN! WHERE'S THE STORY?!!"
pt. 1: So it's smarter to transport enemy survivors to sick bay than send an away team down? Okaaaay.
pt. 2: But the album and memories of his relatives come up again, in his christmas family dream in the nexus. That may not be his own family there, but it relates to him crying before. So... wrong again, Matthew.^^
one thing every reviewer misses:
Gravitational fields dont change instantly because of a sun exploding, the mass is still there.
That scene when confusedMatthew was talking about, What if Data got the emotion chip and found the picture of Tasha Yar. Was just so cool. ConfusedMatthew should be making films not any of those other guys. But well, I guess that, just goes to prove, Its not what you know, but who you know. in Hollywood.
There's way more than 20 minutes left in the film.. Pardon me but I think that Data feeling remorse about a character from the show contradicts what you think movie cross-overs should deal with.. And how is Soron going to pilot a ship by himself? Who wants to do that for him when it might be destroyed.
I liked this part better than the 1st part however.
god dammit the arrow still doesn't point to the link. I don't want directions on how to embed the youtube trailer.. people won't even know where to go if I did that.
The part where Picard is talking about Data's emotion chip being fused into his head...he said Dr. Crusher told him about it and that she decided Data was "fit for duty". She's a freaking doctor! What does she know about androids???
hes getting ad revenue on his website, forcing you to watch lengthy ads before you can click part 2, being completely unable to hit the pause button cuz the controls are conveniently greyed out. lame.
The only money I make from the site comes from donations. The site was never intended to make me money, only so that I can keep doing reviews without fear of my videos being taken down.
What is sad, is that generations had some decent ideas and the plot could of worked. But the pacing and writing just got bad, the acting was also just bland when Shatner wasn't on screen.
Picard´ss grief wasn´t so meaningless though. There´s the whole connection with Soran ´s loss ending in the final lamentation about death. Still, I´m not saying it was well done.
The reason Generations wasn't good was because they rushed it, it came out only 6 months after the show ended, the first TOS film came out in 1979, 10.5 years after the original series ended, it was't a bad movie, just not a very good one, but the next film TWOK was really really good. I mean imagine if they put together 2 episodes from the original series and called it a film.
i have a question how big should a warp core breach be? im not an expert in star trek but i would like to know?

pt 3:
if the weapon was on the klingon ship, they could simply reset their cloaking device, go someplace else and destroy the sun from there
so enterprise doesnt know shit about the exact coordinates

The ads are easily countered by refreshing the page.
Not a problem at all.

It would have been better if it were 90min of Kirk fighting that rubber lizard man.

The revenue I receive from those lousy ads at the end of my videos is precisely zero dollars. All the revenue goes directly to blip tv, not me.
I hate those ads! I hate them - I hate them - I hate them!
But there is no way for me to remove them. They have become something I just have to live with :(

"Time is the fire in which we burn"
that was the best quote in the movie but it wouldn't have meant very much if we didn't see Picard's grieving sequence.
