i love this show. hyacinth is this really difficult, kind of obnoxious character, and yet she is somehow really likable as a protagonist. i think it's rare that writers are talented enough to capture this element of humanity - that people can be deeply flawed and yet still lovable

It's called the welfare state. Daisy, Onslow, and Rose live off it. Something Americans are not very familiar with...One of the main themes of the show.
