This is one of the few recordings of this piece that doesn't rush the tempo after 2:00 but lets it flow along at a moderate rate, making it much easier (IMHO) to enjoy. So many other recordings I've heard play this part so fast that it sounds like the conductor hates it so much he can't wait to get it over with. Perhaps even VW himself intended this part to be played fast. Nevertheless, I prefer it slow as it is played here. Just sayin'.
