I also think you took a really unprofessional approach. You were whiny, and you used profanity. Saying things like, the convention was "fucking boring" will never get you the credit you want as reporters. You came into this not knowing anything about us and got super miffed when we wouldn't let you join out "secret little club".

If 99% of the things people said about you were mean you wouldn't trust people either.

@gag75 The reason that the issue of 'openness' became a theme is because of the discourse we observed within the community itself. Cupcake referred to it, as well as the panelist at Anime Central. We merely came out on the side of that particular internal debate that feels isolation is not the way to go.

As for "Fucking boring." - that's what it was. Obviously this is because we are not in the fandom. It's as fucking boring as an anime con to a non anime fan. But that's the point, isn't it?

It's not about wanting respect. Furry conventions have been burned too many times by exploitative reporters who only wanted a saucy "shock" story for TV ratings or to sell magazines. That's why every furcon has rules about media coverage and why many furries mistrust the media.
