People, Fallout wasn't in the MAC, it is on the PC. Toby is not making Fallout videos because the videos were in the MAC, and he was very far in the game. And also, he was sick. We will probably see more Fallout videos in the next few days. Thumbs up so people can see.

i was just wondering... whats your file size when you upload a pc gaming video to youtube? im sick of ending up with a crappy quality so i figured i might as well upload the raw footage..

@mikedc88 - I record mine with FRAPS, which makes HUGE files, but put it in my video editor, Cyberlink PowerDirector 9 Ultra 64 and export it to either H.264 or MPEG-4.

As an example, just today I uploaded 2 min and 45 sec of Street Fighter IV for the PC in 1280x720 and the .M2TS file (the H.264) was 482,735,684 bytes. Almost half a gig.

@BeardedKirklander I use fraps as well and I actually got it to record properly. I couldnt find the right way to render my file. I just decided to use theatre mode and render it from there. It gave me a 78mb file but it was SUPER crappy. I decided to upload it anyway but wanted to re-make it and re-upload it. Another thing, does it matter what resolution the video is recorded in?.. im plugged in through DVI and not HDMI... I dont know if it changes anything.

@mikedc88 - Ok, so you record onto your local hard drive using the FRAPS codec. What resolution? It should give you HUGE file sizes probably, since it is nearly lossless.

What I do next is pull that FRAPS footage into my Video Editing Program and then export from there at the SAME resolution and frames per second (almost always 1280x720) using either MPEG-4 or H.264.

It is THAT final file that I upload to YouTube. What vid editor do you use?

@BeardedKirklander My Black ops in-game resolution is 1024x768 only because its the only resolution i found to be almost flawless. Bad port is bad. Everything else is native even though it doesnt really matter.

I use Sony Vegas Pro 9.

@mikedc88 - ok, if you record the game at 1024x768 to the FRAPS codec, you probably use either 30 fps or 60 fps, right? My LCD is 60hz and I have VSYNC ON and Triple Buffering on and I have FRAPS set to 60 fps for recording. You should import the video into a project with the same settings - 1024x768 and the proper FPS and then when you export, make sure you export to 1024x768 at that same FPS, progressive with deblocking on (I believe). That should work (h.264 or mpeg-4). Sure hope so! :)
