@jukio02 i was quoted $80K to put enough solar panels on my roof so I produce as much power as I use on average. Solar panels in the day would produce more power than we use, the extra power is sent back to the city grid for them to use. I can't store it or resell it. I could get on a program that gives me credit for producing x amount of power that I could then use for my night time use. Solar panels don't give you any power at night so you have to use the city power. You have a 100% system?
Obama thinks Green Jobs are the next boom to our economy. I use about 1000 Kwatt-hours per month, I wanted to see how much it would cost to make my bill zero by producing more than enough power. $80K is how much I would have to spend. The government is paying $7K per installation in the form of a subsidy. Solar panels come with 25 year warranty & it takes 32 years to start benefiting. This not going to be a booming industry. So they tried to quote me a 35% system $32K before subsidy.
Great stuff on your channel -- keep it up! Prop 23 is down in the polls, but the Yes on 23 campaign just got a new influx of hot, anonymous cash, so we'll need to fend them off in the home stretch to Election Day.
Hit me back if you'd like to talk Prop 23. We're coming out with a bunch of great No on Prop 23 videos soon!
I have got to ask if anyone has thought of the use of solar panels that interlock to make large floating canopies over the surface of the ocean that also traps water 4 desalinisation processed water serving two purposes of energy generation?
