  • THANKS!

  • what program should I use on ubuntu for editing AVI slicing cuting putting in jpg and audio and some simple titles and then compressing 10 min AVI (about 200 Mb) to about 40Mb Mpeg2 or 4 or something. So is there any free ubuntu program for that? BTW (I know nothing about linux and video codecs)

  • Ahh, thanks for bringing that to my attention! Will post a video today about it!!!

  • You can use cinelerra to edit videos, and you can use ffmpeg to convert videos to various formats. Getting cinelerra to work with ubuntu is a pain, but it compiles nicely for most other distros.

  • Or you can use Pitivi Video Editor...lots of choice...and yes ffmpeg is good

  • Cinelerra is the best I've seen. It's almost as good as sony vegas, which is about eighty bucks. The real disadvantage is the lack of plugins, and a few bugs.
