Eating often and burning a lot of calories, keeps your body in a constant state of burning calories. You will find numerous bodybuilders or athletes that eat perhaps 4x the recommended GDA of calories due to the amount of calories they burn. :)

He's not morbidly obese because although he eats all this, morbidly obese people eat a lot more throughout the day. If he lived off salad but the healthy ones, he wouldn't have gained so much weight.
