i wanst getting it so like a nerd i watched it over and over again and this is what i got. i copied your hand movements as hard as i could for the d major. i then started like i always do make up stories about what i saw and this is what i got. there are girl foxes in a den and they need to get to their bf house in the other den. but they are wearing expensive shoes. so they have to use the c# as something to land on over the mud and once again on the g# cause its the door step. like the show!

that "tone, tone. semi-tone, tone, tone, tone, semi-tone" is a HUGE help. really, i don't have to memorize the keys, the placements, letters or numbers anymore.
all i have to do is remember that pattern and voila! i can plot a major scale in no time. thanks to this lesson! i actually play guitar but because of this tutorial, i've learned the basics of playing piano easily and i'm getting the hang of it. :)
wow! I can't believe i am actually understanding this.I took a few lessons in the past, which i paid for,but for some reason,i am learning tons more from this guy! for free!!! thanks !!!

I've played guitar for 10 years and always wanted to understand the piano but never had time for lessons. Your videos have really helped advance my musical training. Thanks for doing this!
Andrew, I am very much enjoying your lessons, but it would be great it when you are showing us how to play specific little tunes it would be great if you would tell us what the keys are. I keep watching your fingers trying to see where you are putting them on the keyboard, but this is very hard. You really do need to mention the keys when you are demonstrating. Besides that, your videos are great!!!
dude i just started your lessons and there so easy so far, i took piano class my senior year and it was never this easy, but i only watched lessons one and two and im trying to get to three but it wont play, help? lol
this has made learning piano FUN! wow im amazed, i wish i could say its the best way to learn, but i just started. Hopefully i stick to it and give you my feedback after i have finished, or caught up with all your lessons. Thank YOU!!
Hey Lypur ! Thanks for the lessons, you are an amazing teacher and fun too XD I am just beginning to learn and found your videos, believe me that you have help me a lot. Hope everything goes great for you!!!
Hi! It is wonderful when I can play piano. I have never used piano before, and I also didnot know anything about chords, notes, semi-tone or something like that. Thanks so much!
Hi I play piano with without lessons, I enjoy your videos as I can pick up some tips to improve my playing, but one thing when you're explaining the Mnemonic you said ends battle and you hit the F and C notes was that intentional? Did you mean to hit the E and B?
does the pianist really need long fingers? just asking my fingers arent that long.... anyway, thanks for all the effort for this... these lessons really help me! :)
you don't' NEED long fingers :) if you can reach from 1 C to another C (that's called one octave) if you can reach that far you can play almost anything :)
In fact, I was counting on a smaller keyboard with smaller keys. I bought a biiiig Delson this Easter and I can clearly press 11 keys, without touching any others. And, counting the black keys, there are 17 in total :P:P But it's not that hard, with a little basketball training you can easily grow up a lot, especially when you're young. I grew up 20cm in 2 years (I am 1.67 now). Btw, I'm not 13 any more. My birthday is on 6th of May. Wee I'll get an identity card now :D:D

I"ve been seeing on the net that sometimes Father Charlie goes down and eats breakfast instead of ending battle. And then breakfast ends for the flats.
thanks the lessons are and you explain them really well and I wanted to ask you if there are any excersice to make my fingers more accurate and faster
hi, nice video u have hey could u please advise me on how to improve my note reading XD and wat did it mean by "Well if the chord is split, it is still a chord, just the notes aren't played at the same time."
But, cause I gonna learn to play with your lessons, I have a question to this course:
Whats the disadvantage when I do the 2nd Inversion with 1,3,5 instead of 1,2,5? Is that important in any way in future or can I form a habit of doing it 1,3,5?
yea, the reason you switch to 1 2 5 in the inversion is because, 3 note chords are just what you start out doing. If you're going to go higher in piano, you'll evenually need to play 4-note chords, which would be CEGC then EGCE then GCEG then CEGC...so if you play with 135 and then switch to 125 you're hand is already used to using the 2nd finger on that inversion.
Thanks for your time and effort, we appreciate it. Learnt alot and hope you keep goin, how bout teching us some nice song like "ill be waiting right here" by richard marx"..
You are such a generous and funny man. The best teacher I've found on youtube. More, more more please ! BTW, dont change a thing.....

the 4 note chords need some inversions with like 1 2 4 5 soo if you're used to 3...it would be much harder for you. so in the long run 125 is better
Lypur 4 years ago
Very helpful guide ^^
But, cause I gonna learn to play with your lessons, I have a question to this course:
Whats the disadvantage when I do the 2nd Inversion with 1,3,5 instead of 1,2,5? Is that important in any way in future or can I form a habit of doing it 1,3,5?
RyouRyoga 4 years ago
Sorry, mean the 1st Inversion (on right hand).
The E,G,C-Thing
RyouRyoga 4 years ago
yea, the reason you switch to 1 2 5 in the inversion is because, 3 note chords are just what you start out doing. If you're going to go higher in piano, you'll evenually need to play 4-note chords, which would be CEGC then EGCE then GCEG then CEGC...so if you play with 135 and then switch to 125 you're hand is already used to using the 2nd finger on that inversion.

Jap, thanks. I expected such a reason, but your accurate explanation is better ^^
