its because of the type of ps3 he has he can only play ps1 games unless he buys a ps2 game from playstation store

On some site i forgot which one i found it like years ago it said when i search the Ps1 it said "playstation unofficialy reffered as Psx or Ps1" its true that a psx is something else other than a ps1 isn't it like a dvd player or something like that.

@jkryptonik uh they did that because the ps2 is still selling copies and if ps3 slim had backward comp with ps2 nobody would buy a ps2 anymore(nobody buys ps1s anymore so they did leave that one in)

@superkerel9 Dude,it wouldn't matter if people didn't buy the whole PS2 system.By now its probably about as much as 2 PS2 games.So they would pretty much have the same amount of funds coming in.(if only Sony had made backwards compatibility for the PS3 slim,they would have more sells and people wouldn't be so disappointed with their PS3 slim.-and now look at what has happened to PlayStation Network.

also, the xbobx 360 could has been hacked aswell, but ps3 is free and xbox 360 is not.

ps3=free to lose money when hacked

xbox360=pay to lose money when hacked(im sure it will get hacked too)
